TIPS Journal June 2, 2022
as we wrap us a school year
Greetings from Tokyo International Progressive School
Hello everyone, with thanks to those of you who filled out the school survey sent to you recently by our Board of Directors. Your opinions and feedback are important to me, as they allow TIPS to be the best version of itself as possible.
For those of you with high school students, Mr. Jessen-Petersen's presentation on June 10 at 7 p.m. entitled "Adjusting to College with Learning Differences" may be helpful to you. You may register using this link:

Right now the weather forecast tells us June 7 is more likely for the second Spring Day Out. You will be notified separately when the decision is made.
This is the last issue of TIPS Journal this school year, but I hope to keep in close touch with you, our parents, in other ways. I want to thank each of you for the unique contributions you have made to our school. As always, any questions, please ask!
All the best,
Lyn Sato
TIPS Principal

PSA ACTIVITY REPORT
I am thrilled to say that Ms. Iris Yamanaka and Ms. Regina Salathe have agreed to take the role of co-leaders of PSA next year again. Additionally, Mr. Rory Tibbals has also agreed to continue to act as a publicist for PSA social media posts.
Thanks to the PSA, our small backyard will be prettier when you see it next. The PSA has donated two long raised beds for planting projects for our students.
As we come to the end of the PSA activity this year, I wholeheartedly thank all parents who helped the school with your enthusiasm for our organization!

STUDENT COUNCIL ACTIVITY REPORT
On May 31, the student council mobilized the whole school body for a river clean-up. There was much more garbage in public lands than we realized, so we will be back! We realized there is much more garbage
LANDSCAPING PROJECT
Watch for more improvements as we may be the beneficiary of an Eagle Scout project to make us even prettier.
MATCHING WITS DEBATE
1) Video games make you smarter.
or
2) We will achieve world peace.
The judges - our student body - voted on the winners after being prepped on what to look for in a winning argument. Thank you, Mr. Jessen-Petersen for sponsoring the event.
