Dear Covington Middle School Community,

I hope everyone had a rejuvenating winter break and is ready to dive into an exciting new year at Covington. As we embark on the second semester, we want to remind our parents and students that state testing is just around the corner. To ensure our students are well-prepared for success, our dedicated teachers will be intensifying their instruction, providing extra support and resources to help everyone excel.

In addition to our academic focus, we're thrilled to extend learning opportunities beyond the regular school day. Parents, be on the lookout for information about our Extended Learning Opportunities, available throughout the day, after school, and possibly on Saturdays. We believe that these additional opportunities will further enrich the educational experience for our students.

As we ease back into the routine, we are also keeping an eye on the weather forecast. With the possibility of inclement weather this weekend and in the coming week, we want to assure you that AISD is monitoring the situation closely. In the event of any updates or cancellations, rest assured you will be promptly informed.

Here's to a fantastic second semester filled with growth, learning, and success for all our students! Let's make 2024 a year to remember. "Let's Go Colts!!!

AISD Technology remains committed to providing students the devices they need to fully participate in blended learning environments. Device distribution, however, can be costly. Our warranties do not cover loss or intentional damage, an increasing issue the district is experiencing.

It’s essential that we minimize costs associated with device loss and damage. This ensures the sustainability of the bond-funded program.

We have reviewed our internal student device loss and damage incident data and now need feedback from staff and families to inform our next steps. The Everyone:1 Student Device Feedback Survey begins January 11, 2024, and is open to faculty, staff, and AISD families.

Congratulations to the Girls 8th grade basketball team for winning the entire title 2 division! They played well and beat out Burnet Sadler Means. 23-18! We are also so proud of the 7th grade girls for making it to the Division 2 Championship, they are the runner up! Congrats to the Coaches as well, Mr. Willey, Mr. Silva and Ms. Goldate! What a great season!

Our National Junior Honor Society held a canned food drive recently. We want to thank all of the participants who helped out and donated. They could not have done it with out y'all! All of the canned goods will be donated to Hungry Souls next week!

Congratulations to the boys soccer team for being Undefeated Zone Champions! Great job! A big thank you to Coach Hankins and Coach Watson!

GeoFORCE Summer Camp Program
