During the week of May 31st, we will be conducting our last set of ALICE drills. In light of the recent events in Texas it is important for us to continue practicing our safety drills. As a reminder, ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate. This is a research based, options-based protocol that is non-sequential to respond to a dangerous individual at school. We collaborate with the Chelmsford Police and Fire Departments for these drills to ensure that it is both a safe and developmentally appropriate experience.

After we conduct the drill, we will send a communication to inform you when it occurred. Should you have any questions about ALICE or about this drill, either leading up to the drill or after you have debriefed with your child, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Due to the Monday holiday, our weekly pooled testing will happen on Tuesday next week. June 6 will also be the last pooled testing for the year.

Our grant funded Title I interventionists finished their year this week. We want to thank Ms. Slater, Ms. Potula, Ms. Gear and Ms. Parker for all their work with our students this year!

Sign-Up for the Byam Staff Appreciation Luncheon, June 1st!

This year's Staff Appreciation Lunch will be catered by Summer Street Grocers. They will provide sandwiches and salads. We are looking for additional items and some extra hands to help set up and break down. Items can be dropped off in the main office anytime before 10:00 AM on June 1st. Please note that we are unable to heat dishes. If you are providing a "hot dish", please make sure that it is delivered hot to Byam.

Sign-Up for the 4th Grade Celebration., June 10th!

A fun-filled outdoor event has been planned for all the 4th graders during the school day on Friday, June 10th. Students will receive a special t-shirt and a yearbook. Be on the look-out for a separate email that has been sent to all 4th grade parents/guardians with more details.

It takes a lot of helping hands to facilitate a full agenda for 114 kids with a minimum of chaos. So, we hope you'll consider volunteering!
