Queen of Apostles School
Term 4 Week 5 - Thursday 9 November, 2023
Remembrance Day Prayer
Ever-living God,
We remember those whom you have
gathered from war into the peace of
your presence; may that same place calm our fears,
bring justice to all peoples and establish
harmony among the nations
through Jesus Christ our Lord
Amen
Remembrance Day Ceremony
Tomorrow at 11am the SRC will lead us in a Remembrance Day Ceremony in the Undercover Area. Remembrance Day is an important day in our history as we remember those who fought and died for our country. Parents are welcome to attend.
Free Dress Day
Tomorrow, as part of Wellness Week, the students (and staff) will be able to wear appropriate free dress.
Ninja Playground
The Ninja Playground is almost ready to use. The fences come down this week and checks completed. Once that is done we will organise a roster for the students to use this wonderful playground fully funded by the P&F. This is a fantastic initiative for our school!
Annual Community Meeting of School Advisory Council and P&F
The Annual Community Meeting for the School Advisory Council and P&F will be held on Wednesday November 15th in the school library, commencing at 6.00pm. There will be pre meeting drinks and nibbles in the undercover area starting at 5.30pm.
Reasons you should come to the ACM:
- Show your support of the hard-working School Advisory Council and P&F
- There will be a brief review of 2023 School Advisory Council and P&F activities
- Office bearers for the P&F will be elected
- 2024 staffing will be announced. You will find out your child’s year group teacher for 2024
- 2024 school fees will be presented
- Focus areas for 2024 will be shared
- You will be able to mingle with other parents, relax and enjoy a drink and some nibbles
Please consider if you would like to nominate for the P&F. There is 1 position available as our current president, Kath Anthony, is stepping down from her role due to work commitments. I sincerely thank Kath for the time she has spent on the P&F committee and in particular the last two years as president. Kath took over during COVID times and oversaw the transition of the P&F to a committee of the school with a new Terms of Reference. Kath has done an amazing job and will be sorely missed.
We also have one vacancy for the School Advisory Council for 2024.
If there is anyone who wishes to nominate for these vacancies, you will need to complete the appropriate nomination form below and return it to the school office by Friday November 10.
Pre-Primary Assembly
I'm really looking forward to the Pre-Primary Assembly next Friday morning at 8.50am in the hall. I know they have been working really hard and cant wait to show the community what they have been learning about. It promises to be a lot of fun!
Christmas Concert
This year we are very excited to again be putting on a Christmas Concert for our community. The concert will take place on Thursday 30th November. Each class from Kindy to Year 6 will be involved along with our choirs. The P&F book awards will also be handed out on this evening.
We aim to start at 5.30pm and will be finished by 7.30pm. Please keep this date in your dairy as it promises to be a special evening.
Best Wishes
Mark Ryan
Principal
