Girls Swimming & Diving
Lower Moreland which competes in AA has started the season 1-4, versus all AAA schools has been led by Sam Becker, Emily Vaidyan, Abby Hwan, Grace Dudek and diver, Yuval Levi. For the first time in a very long time, the girl’s team has qualified a swimmer/diver in all 12 events for Districts. From mid-December through mid-January, swimmers are focused on Intensive Winter Training- the most important phase of the entire high school season. Goodluck to the girls the rest of the way!
Boys Swimming & Diving
The Lower Moreland Boys Swim and Dive Team also competes at the AA level and is off to a 5-0 start, versus all AAA schools. The leaders have been All-American and 2017 State Champion Connor Killion, Chris Kelly, Tommy Lutter, and Colin Shipp. Killion has broke 1 school and 3 pool records, Lutter and Kelly have both earned 1 school and 2 pool records, Shipp broke 1 pool record, and Jaden Feldman now owns 1 Freshmen Record. From mid-December through mid-January, swimmers are focused on Intensive Winter Training- the most important phase of the entire high school season. The boys are also prepping for Districts and States where they look to make a serious run at the team championships. Good Luck.
Winter Track
The track teams had successful meets the weekend of Dec 22-23 at Lehigh University. Friday evening the girls competed well with many personal best, and were led by senior Jamie Mayer who placed 6th in the 400M. Jamie just missed qualifying for the "Meet of Champions," which is held at the end of the season. Coach Green is hopeful that the girls continue to work hard and place a few runners into the "Meet of Champions."
The boys competed on Saturday, with many being awarded medals for their efforts. Fred Shub led the team placing 2nd in the Shot Put and qualified for the end of the season "Meet of Champions". Nickey Dilbarov qualified for the finals of the 60M High Hurdles (HH), placing 5th overall. Two relays receive medals by placing in the top 5. The 4X400M relay team of Josiah Wiggins, Nickey Dilbarov, Andrew Buss, and Mike Ernst placed 4th, and the 4X800M relay team of John Davies, Len Sassoman, Tim Kennedy, and Connor McFadden place 3rd overall.
The team will start traveling to bigger meets at the New Balance Armory in NYC and the Ocean Breeze Track Center in Staten Island NY. The goal is to have qualifiers for the Indoor State Championships to be held at Penn State University on Sunday, February 25.
Boys Basketball
The boys basketball team is off to a 7-2 start. They were able to claim the Championship of the Hatboro Horsham Tip Off Tournament in early December. Co-captain Shane Cohen has emerged as the team's leader averaging a team high 13 points a game. Forrest Keys is among the team leader in points per game, shooting percentage, and rebounds. Jordan Zoubroulis has provided scoring and rebounding in a timely fashion.
According to The City of Basketball Love Basketball website, the Lower Moreland Boys are currently ranked 6th in the PIAA State Rankings in 4A. A great early season accomplishment.

Cheerleading
The cheer team has also been at some our basketball games this winter season in support of our winter teams. We look forward to seeing Coach Shain and the rest of the team at more events in the next few weeks. Good luck at the competition at the end of the month.
Wrestling
Team Record 1-1. The team competed in the Wetzel Classic at Hatboro-Horsham over the break. Cullen Malone earned a 5th place medal against some top level competition. Some standout wrestlers this year for the team are:
Cullen Malone - Has a lot of potential and should be fun to see what he does this year. A successful junior year could put him in place to earn 100 career wins by the time his career ends.
Nick Bratspis - Has a high motor and a good work ethic. He worked hard in the off-season and everyday to get better. Should have a very strong future in wrestling.
Brett Suddell- The teams captain started the season strong but suffered an injury. Hopefully he'll be back before the end of his senior season.
Tim Baciu - A lot of raw talent that he will hopefully work into strong wrestling abilities.
Matt Stefurak - Strong kid with raw talent that is capable of beating most wrestlers.
