Outdoor Recess
In Ohio, we know that the weather can change at a moment's notice! Please be sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the changing temperature. We go outside for recess any time that the wind chill is 20 degrees or above. Winter coats, hats, gloves, and boots are recommended. Please reach out to jacque.sparent@weschools.org if you need any help getting these items for your child.
Extra Clothing
Learning, eating, playing at recess, and using the restroom can be messy for students of all ages. Please keep a spare change of clothes in your student’s book bag!

Party with the Principals
In January we were focusing on the "E" in our PRIDE Promise which is "Excellence". Students who exemplified this characteristic were invited to a Party with the Principals at the beginning of February. We had snacks, drinks, music, and games to recognize these students.
In February we were looking for students who were "Prepared & Respectful" to be invited to our next party when we return from break. Congratulations to the following students:
- Kindergarten: Christopher Drew, Alexis Shoenbeck, Karsen Pitten, and Dawson Johnson
- 1st Grade: Reagan Wisen, Norah Bauer, Casey Francis
- 2nd Grade: Jack Fredebaugh, Aerionna Harris, Katelyn Newberry, Koda Wosky, and Sylas Wixson
- 3rd Grade: Emilia Mason, Aiden Ficht, Dylan Coronel Martinez
- 4th Grade: Grace Rosen, Ryan Nadock, Lilly Davis, and Musa Saleh
- 5th Grade: Chase Tallion, Skylar Wilson, Michael Sams
Positive Student Shout-Outs
Students are nominated by our staff members for showing PRIDE and kindness. Keep up the great work!
Attendance Matters
Please make every attempt to get your child to school on time as we are required to monitor students’ hours absent, due to House Bill 410. It is important for every student in Ohio to attend school every day. Missing too much school has long-term, negative effects on students, such as lower achievement and graduation rates. It is extremely important to always call our attendance line to let us know when they will be out. Providing a doctor's note when applicable is helpful as well. When students hit certain benchmarks of hours of school missed, you will receive a letter notifying you of this. Certain benchmarks require meetings and/or intervention plans to take place. The highest of benchmarks could require further actions and local resources to be involved. Click HERE for a link to more information regarding House Bill 410.
If you believe your child is experiencing challenges in terms of their mental well-being, it is important to reach out to your principal. To meet your child’s needs, it’s essential to collaborate with the principal and school personnel to explore resources and services available at school. In addition to Crossroads Counselors, the District also has family liaisons and guidance counselors who can provide needed interventions and support.
Crossroads Survey
Please complete this survey if your child has participated in Crossroads programming during the 2023-24 school year. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us understand the effectiveness of our mental health programs and identify areas for improvement. By participating in this survey, you contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the support services we provide to our students. Thank you!
