Hello Lake Families,
We hope the 5-day weekend helps our learners rest and connect with family and friends! School will resume on Wednesday, the 21st. Also, remember to mark your calendars for a minimum day on Wednesday, February 28th when school ends at 12:50.

Traffic Safety Update
Thank you for slowing down in our Lake parking lot - as a reminder, the speed limit is 5 miles per hour, even if there are no students present.
For those who utilize the Madison Middle School morning dropoff, please keep your speed slow and follow the traffic pattern in order to keep all students safe

NEW BOARD MEMBERS NEEDED!
Lake PTA is looking for new board members for the 24-25 school year! We have several executive positions open such as President, Executive Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Financial Reviewer, VP of Membership, and Clubs Liaison! We also have several committee lead positions available like Book Fair Lead, Dine Outs/ Community Partnerships, and Club Leaders. Friendly and experienced board members will still be on the board next year, so it is a great year to start new alongside seasoned leadership! We will help brand new volunteers every step of the way!

Breakfast and Lunch
Breakfast will be available at no cost to all students beginning at 7:40 am daily. Lunch will also be available at no cost to all students. Please check the WaveCrest Cafe for updated menus.
2023-2024 Bell Schedule
Our bell schedule has slightly shifted - we no longer have early release on Mondays. Dismissal every day will be at 2:10, with kindergarten and transitional kindergarten released at 2:00.
School begins at 8:00 a.m. The gates will open at 7:40; please do not drop students off before that time. Minimum days (9/13, 11/13-11/17, 2/28, 6/5) will begin at 8:00 am and will dismiss at 12:50 pm.
Morning Drop Off/Late Drop Off/Early Release Information
* A reminder that the school gate is opened at 7:40 am. Please do not drop your student off prior to that time.
*If your student is coming to school late from an appointment or leaving early from school, please provide a doctor's note to excuse the tardy/early release.
* Please have a government ID when picking your student up early. Students can only be released to biological parent or legal guardian, per CA Ed code. If parents need to make other arrangements, please call the office and notify the office staff the name of the person picking your student up and the individual needs to be listed on the Parent Portal.
Lake Logistics
- CAR RIDER LINE: Families picking up and dropping off, PLEASE help our line move efficiently by NOT getting out of your vehicles while still in the car line. Please train your children to buckle or train them to sit safely while you find a safe place to pull over and make the needed adjustments for the ride home. THANK YOU!
- At dismissal, please utilize both lanes for pickup and be prepared with your child's name, grade and teacher.

The purpose of our Student and Parent Handbook is to assist our students and families with important information regarding school policies, procedures, and agreements we have set us up for us to have an enjoyable, successful, and safe school year.
