More than 100 North and Tartan 10th grade students attended the Career Connect Day at St. Paul's River Center. Our students were able to learn about careers in every career field.
2022 North Graduate HIRED at Andersen Windows & Doors
Enrique Flores connected with Andersen through a WIN visit during his Senior year, and this fall was hired into the Maintenance Tech Apprentice Program. In this role, he is learning how to provide mechanical support and preventative maintenance for production and fabrication equipment. Enrique will be utilizing the tuition reimbursement program to continue his technical training and education in 2023.

Woodworking tech I-III, IS woods, Carpentry home construction, Small engines I-II, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Vocational auto

Marianna Coreas-Recinos: Medical Careers
A Student of the Month is characterized the professional skills of Leadership, Problem Solving, Teamwork, Engagement, and Communication. This is what her teacher had to say:
Marianna's quick thinking was instrumental in the safety of a fellow classmate who was having a medical emergency. Her compassion and caring attitude toward others and her ability to think on her feet will make her a great nursing assistant.
10 grade students take YouScience Discovery Tool in Biology Classes
This October, 10th grade students were given the opportunity to take an online self-discovery tool called YouScience. Self-Discovery is the first step in the career planning process.
New this year, 10th grade students created a career planning folder and loaded documents to assist them in planning their future.

ACE Mentor Program: Starts December 12th
The ACE Mentor Program is open to any high school student who has the curiosity and drive to learn about a career in design and construction — from contracting and engineering to architecture and landscaping.
The first meeting is set for December 12th at Tartan High School, room 112 from 3:30-5:00. They will continue to meet every Monday through March.
