Coming Up for Manville Schools
No School and Early Dismissals
On November 10 and 11, schools will be closed for the annual NJEA Convention.
Also, on November 15–17 all schools will operate on early dismissal schedules for Parent-Teacher Conferences. See each school's website for both conference and early dismissal times.
SEPAG Meeting November 9
The Special Education Parent Advocacy Group is a parent-driven group that provides input on issues that affect the district's special needs population. Their first meeting is being held virtually on November 9 at 3:30 p.m. See the flyer for more details and a link to the meeting.
International Club Canned Food Drive
The high school's International Club is collecting canned and non-perishable foods through November 16 for distribution to families in need. All donations can be dropped off at room 36 in the high school with Mrs. Jankowski.

MHS Holds Financial Aid Workhop with Rider University
The high school’s Counseling Department recently partnered with financial aid specialists from Rider University to offer a virtual Financial Aid Workshop. There, the specialists went over the financial aid process, including how to apply, and broke it down so parents and students alike would be able to navigate the unknown waters. The Somerset County Department of Health has opened additional COVID-19 clinics. Visit their website for a full list of dates, times and other details.
MYAL Wresting Registration
Registration for MYAL wrestling is now open for children from kindergarten through sixth grade. See the flyer for dates, times and registration locations.
No Greater Glory
Learn the true story of four chaplains who made the ultimate sacrifice onboard the S.S. Dorchester, an army troop transport ship torpedoed by a German submarine on February 3, 1943. Presented by Paul Fried on Saturday, November 5 from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Manville Public Library.
Manville PD is Hiring
Applicants must possess a New Jersey Police Training Commission Basic Course for Police Officers Certification, or be an Alternate Route police academy recruit or graduate, or possess a Special Law Enforcement Officer 2 Certification that is eligible to receive a waiver from the New Jersey Police Training Commission. RWJUH Offering Free Classes for Students
Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital is offering free classes for students in Somerset County. Classes include BLAST Babysitting, Heartsaver First Aid and EMT Training. See the flyer for more details and contact information.

Free Rabies Clinic
The Board of Health is hosting a Rabies Clinic for dogs and cats on November 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at North End Firehouse #3, located at 169 North 8th Avenue. The rabies vaccination is free, but quantities are limited. Rabies vaccinations are required for dog licenses, which will be open for renewal in January. Dog licenses will not be offered at this event.
Food Assistance
Christ the Redeemer Church, located at 98 S. 2nd Ave., is hosting multiple programs for food assistance. First is the Food Pantry, available on various Wednesdays from 4 to 5:00 p.m. Guests are welcome to stop by the main entrance of the red building to receive food.
