CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH: NOVEMBER
Efe Minty First Caregiver of the Month
This month we begin our Caregiver of the Month program, and we are excited to give the first certificate to Efe Minty. Efe has been an exemplary caregiver and employee. She cares deeply for her clients, and she helps them flourish in body and mind. We can count on Efe to bring that beautiful smile and playful optimism into any situation. She has fun with her clients, but she is very serious about their care. In October, Efe discovered that her client had misunderstood the dosage for a prescription drug. She reported this to her supervising RN immediately and averted a potentially dangerous situation. Thank you, Efe!

Veterans Day November 11
Start collecting stories from your veterans. Record your conversations. These are priceless pieces of our country's history, from the mouths of those who fought the fight. One of our clients, Charles Foreman, has amazing stories to share of first-hand knowledge of World War II events. His story includes the sad, but true, battles of prejudice Black soldiers fought against their own county. Bless you for your service, Charles!
Brain Fitness Academy Begins in January
Sue Bouder, Flourish in Place Brain Care Consultant and Coach, and Vandie Loper, Flourish in Place caregiver and Brain Fitness Facilitator, held an open house at Windsor at Celebration to introduce our Brain Fitness Academy, which is planned to start at this location in January 2020. We are so excited to sponsor this program to the residents of Windsor and the surrounding community.
Flourish in Place Promotes Brain Fitness at Osceola Council on Aging Expo
Our Brain Fitness Academy team, Sue Bouder, Vandie Loper, and Bill Pindar, along with Flourish president Kim Lee, manned a booth at the Osceola Council on Aging's Annual Expo Thursday, Oct. 30. They spoke to Expo-goers about the Brain Fitness Academy program that Flourish is sponsoring at Windsor at Celebration, starting in January.
The hall was packed with seniors, who took Brain Fitness Academy information and played with puzzles and brain engagement games at our booth. The seniors also got to do a little trick-or-treating at the booth, picking up some Halloween candy from our group. Sue danced with many of the seniors while a DJ played. What a fun event!
