Falcon Flyer
Belong. Inspire. Grow.
Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families-
This week we celebrated a Valentine spirit week where Kindness was our mission. Activities such as Hi-5’s and giving compliments were the theme each day.
I’m extremely proud of our 17 students who campaigned this week for our student body officer positions. Leadership and Character go hand in hand and are extremely important to the future of Ridgeline High School.
All of the candidates were worthy of an office. Our newly elected officers are Lily Pesnell and Ryan Sutter for Spirit Coordinators; Srikar Surapaneni, Treasurer; Hayden Bennett, Secretary; Owen Rich, Vice President; Andrew Martinez, President.
More about our new officers in next week’s Flyer.
I rarely comment on Covid matters in the newsletter, but today I am. We are in a position I guess you’d call ‘between a rock and a hard place’… We have a mandate set to end on March 21 to no longer wear masks, and in the meantime, we are supposed to continue wearing them.
While it feels odd to wait till then to un-mask, we’re going to continue to suck it up and wear our masks, with hopes that we will truly be free in four weeks. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
No School Monday!
Tuesday, Feb. 22 Registration for next year begins. See details about this and much, much more in today’s Falcon Flyer!
Make it a great weekend! --Mr. Hardt

8th Grade Family Open House on Tuesday, March 8th at 6:30-8:30pm. Come see our activities, programs and more. Tours available!
On February 14th, in honor of National Career and Technical Education Month, two of our Ridgeline Cooperative Worksite Learning students, Jillian Persicke and Aliyah Spence, spoke at the CVSD School Board meeting about their experience working for CHAS Clinic, and how it is helping to prepare them for their future medical careers. They also explained how being involved with Worksite Learning is helping them build their resumes, and earn credits towards high school graduation. Yes! They get paid and earn high school credits at the same time.
Well done, Jillian and Aliyah! Your presentation was very professional. If you would like to know more about how to enroll in Worksite Learning this semester see Mrs. Demarest in E202.
February is National CTE Month
February is National CTE Month celebrating Career and Technical Education. We have great CTE teachers at Ridgeline who can help students develop 21st Century Employability Skills and prepare students for all types of future careers. Statistics show that 95% of students who take more than one CTE class graduate high school, which is 10% higher than the national average. Talk to your grade level counselor to find out what amazing CTE courses we offer our Falcon students! We have several terrific CTSO’s (Career Technical Student Organizations) for our students to join too! Talk to your CTE teachers about joining.
National Honor Society
National Honor Society applications are open for all students with a 3.5 cumulative GPA. To join, fill out an application, write a short essay response, have a 3.5 cumulative (or higher) GPA, by Monday, February 28th. Once all documents/GPA is verified, you will receive an email to pay the $5.00 dues at the business office. Students who meet this criteria will all be accepted (freshmen through current juniors); NHS is nationally recognized through colleges and universities; students can be awarded for their incredible academic status, including scholarships and other opportunities offered during a student’s senior year. See Mrs. Grisafi in B215 or Mr. Anderson in the counseling center with any questions.
