A Message from Mr. Wright
Dear Fannie W. Fitzgerald Elementary School Community,
We are thrilled to share some exciting updates and information as we progress through this school year. Our school vision of "Connect, Experience, and Thrive" continues to guide us, and we are proud to announce the remarkable progress our students have made since the beginning of the year.
Mid-year data reveals that our dedicated staff has done an exceptional job nurturing and developing our students. We are pleased to report significant growth compared to other schools in the Division, consistently testing in the upper percentile. This success is a testament to the hard work of our staff, as well as the unwavering support of our families and community. Stay tuned for an official data report, which will be shared with you once all details are finalized.
Looking ahead, the budget for the upcoming year has been released. Anticipate an increase in kindergarten classrooms from 6 teachers to 7, the addition of 2 teaching assistants, a part-time reading specialist to accommodate our growing school size, and the introduction of a 4th Special Education teacher, formerly known as an LD teacher. Enrollment remains a key factor, and we are aiming to expand in these crucial areas. We will begin posting positions soon.
As we enter the third quarter, we encourage parents to log into ParentVUE to stay updated on their child's grades. Should you have any questions regarding assignments or grades, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher. At Fannie W. Fitzgerald Elementary, we maintain the expectation that grades are consistently updated to keep you well-informed.
We are gearing up for a strong finish to this exceptional school year. Your support in reminding students to exhibit their best behavior at school and on the bus, read nightly and engage in discussions about their reading with you, ensure they receive adequate nightly rest, attend school consistently, and collaborate with their teachers, is invaluable. Your continued support and engagement will enable our school community to thrive.
Let's continue working together to create a nurturing and successful environment for all our students. Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication.
Sincerely,
George Wright
Fannie W. Fitzgerald Elementary School Principal
