College/Career/Life Readiness Information
The Why & How of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (the FAFSA)
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the first step in any college journey. Whether you have been saving for college all your life or still aren’t sure if college is right for you, the FAFSA will ensure that your financial needs are known to, and most usually fulfilled by, any colleges you or your student are considering applying to.
In order to begin the FAFSA, students and/or parents must first create a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID. To do so, have your email address, social security number, exact name as spelled on social security card, and date of birth on hand, then click on the link below to begin creating your account.
https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch
Once you have verified your account and as soon as October 1st hits, you will be able to fill out your FAFSA! (direct link below)
https://studentaid.gov/fafsa-app/ROLES
After completion and processing, you will receive notification regarding how much Federal Aid you/your student qualify to receive. Time is of the essence, if you want to ensure maximum financial assistance.
Please do not hesitate to contact one of our team members if you have any questions or would like assistance filling out any part of the application.
Seniors! Remember, RHS does not send your transcripts to colleges
