Sonia Maria Sotomayor is an American lawyer and jurist who serves as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. She was nominated by President Barack Obama on May 26, 2009, and has served since August 8, 2009. She is the third woman, first woman of color, the first Hispanic, and first Latina to serve on the Supreme Court.

Fun Day #1 - THIS Friday

Students will have an opportunity to sign up for AWESOME Fun Day Activities during Advisory classes. Students can choose their Fun Day activities based on group placements assigned according to how much effort you have shown in your iReady lessons. Make sure to check your email each day to find out if your invitation to sign up has arrived!

Students who have not completed AT LEAST 4 iReady lessons or who are on the Exclusion List will automatically be placed in Group 5.

8:15 - Period 1 (28 minutes)

TJMS 8th Grade Class Fundraiser - Car Wash

$5 Tickets Available from TJMS Class of 2023

Come out and support the TJMS Class of 2023 by purchasing a ticket for the 8th grade class fundraiser car wash taking place THIS Saturday, October 22nd, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. All proceeds from this car wash will go toward the cost of our 8th grade class end of year trip to Disney Land.

Mandatory Vision and Hearing Screening

On Tuesday, all 8th grade students will be participating in state mandated vision and hearing screening conducted by DSUSD Health staff members. Parents will be individually notified only if there is cause for concern.

Your Student May Be Eligible for a College Savings Account!

CalKids Savings Accounts for Low-income Public School Students, 1st–12th Grade

California public school students identified as low-income, enrolled in 1st through 12th grades during the 2021-2022 academic year, are eligible for a CalKIDS Savings account.

Eligible low-income public school students receive a:

$500 automatic deposit in a CalKIDS account for eligible low-income public school students
$500 additional deposit in a CalKIDS account for eligible students identified as foster youth
$500 additional deposit in a CalKIDS account for eligible students identified as homeless
