Hello Aviator Families,

We have a very exciting full week ahead that will culminate with our Boosterthon Fun Run Event on Friday! We hope you will join us in cheering on our runners, skippers, walkers, gallopers, etc.! We will have a designated spectator area. Please see below for additional information.

General Assembly Meeting - Monday, September 11th

Please join us on Monday from 5-6 in our cafeteria. Childcare and treats will be available (free of cost). We hope to see you there :)

Fall Mum Sale

PTA is selling potted mums again! Available in 4 colors and two sizes.

Orders and payment due by Wednesday 9/20

Mums can be picked up at the school on Wednesday 10/4 from 4:30-6pm. Place orders using this google form, payment can be made via PayPal or sent into the school.

Green Turtle Spirit NIght

Don't plan on cooking next Monday (9/18). Instead, head to the Green Turtle for lunch or dinner. "To Go" orders are included as well.

AUP Form - Due October 1

Complete the AUP Form. All students are REQUIRED to have an acceptable use policy agreement (AUP) on file. PARENTs/GUARDIANs of each student must complete this form by October 1st.

Regularly reviewing bus expectations with your student will help ensure a safe ride to and from school each day. Riding the bus is a privilege; it takes all of us to safely transport our students each day. Thank you for your support!

At our last General Assembly meeting in June 2023, parents requested that the PTA put out communication via periodic newsletters. Please check out this month's issue!
School Meal Benefit Forms
School Year Meal Benefit forms for SY 2023-24 are now available online! Easily fill out your new meal benefit form by visiting https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application on the www.smcps.org website.
MySchoolBucks
MySchoolBucks is an online payment service that provides a convenient way for parents/guardians to pay for school-related purchases by using their credit/debit card or electronic check.

Duke Maker Space is gearing up to come back this school year 2023-2024 !! But we need you. We need volunteers to commit to volunteering 1 day a week for the school year. You would come in during lunch and make a cool project with students. Times rotate every 2 weeks from 1045-1145 and then 1145-115. If you cannot commit to a designated day, maybe you would like to be a sub and jump in when someone can’t make it.


If you are interested in getting involved with our Duke Makerspace and are available midday one day a week, please contact Amanda Calloway at amandaandjosh@me.com. You have to be a registered volunteer with the school so please get registered.
