Colton Hills School Bulletin
22 June 2023
Introduction by Mr Gittins, Deputy Headteacher
Welcome to our bulletin where we share the achievements of our students, exciting upcoming events and important information.
There is a real buzz around the school at the moment as, after two years of hard work from students and teachers, we have officially become a High Performance Learning School. As the only school in Wolverhampton with this prestigious award, we are in a unique position to benefit from the latest ideas in teaching and learning to transform students into High Performance Learners. For further information on what High Performance Learning is, click the link below to see the video.
Our students arrived back from the German exchange trip after another excellent visit. Students had the chance to build friendships with their exchange partners, sample life in a German school and enjoy a range of new experiences.
There are some exciting ‘firsts’ for us to look forward to in the remaining weeks of the summer term. July will see our first ever school fete and our first school production for more than twenty years – The Wiz. Tickets will be available for both events so look out for further information.
We hope you enjoy reading this issue.

German Exchange Visit
Led by our German department, some of our students who undertake German as a foreign language has had the chance to pay a visit to our partner school, IG Helpsen, in Germany. Besides engaging in school activities, they also visited many places of interest includes Heide Park Resort, Miniatur Wunderland and the Elbe Philharmonic Concert Hall in Hamburg. It was a very fruitful trip and we would like to thank Miss Heeley and the staff who volunteered their time to chaperone the students on this excursion.
Gypsy, Roma and Traveller History Month and Pride Month
Students from the gypsy, roma and traveller communities have been busy in art making these patterned mosiac as part of this year's theme #weavingjourneys and celebrating the unique patterns from different groups in the community.
