The Arc of Shelby County ~ Congratulations, Debby!!
Debby McLeod has been a dedicated and loyal employee for many many years. Much appreciation for what she does, not only Andy Hensley, as his admin assistant, but also for her support of our building staff.
The Arc of Shelby County annual dinner was Tuesday 9/13 at Mt. Pisgah Church. During the annual dinner, the Arc recognizes outstanding contributions made by individuals and/or organizations on behalf of children and adults with intellectual and related developmental delays and their families. SCS employee Debby McLeod was recognized as the Education Professional of the year. This award recognizes a service professional for excellence in working with or assisting those who live with a disability and/or their families. I cannot think of a more deserving person to be recognized than Debby M.
Below is an excerpt from her nomination:
Debby McLeod graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1976 and following her graduation went directly to work as an administrative assistant for the Shelby County Special Education Cooperative. For 46 years Debby has been the administrative assistant at Shelby County Special Education Cooperative, Blue River Special Education Cooperative (formed in 1979) and the Shelbyville Central Schools Special Education Department (formed in 2010 after the dissolution of BRSEC). During that time, Debby has supported many special education directors, teachers, support staff, students and families all across Shelby County. Debby has a servant’s heart and is passionate about supporting programs that support students with disabilities.
