You all understood the assignment!
Our toy drive was also a huge success! Mrs. Helminski headed up the toy drive and has a special message to you all.
“WOW! I am overwhelmed by the generosity of the ELC families. Hobart Tri Kappa and I thank you immensely for the AMAZING toy donations. These toys will help bring lots of smiles Christmas morning for approximately 500 Hobart children. “

2022 Readathon!
The 2022 Readathon is upon us and what a great way to spotlight the importance of reading by participating! The Lake County Public Library provides this program as way to raise funds for their organization as well as our school library. Look for permission slips to come home mid January. Once you turn in permission slip, your child will receive a pledge envelope to log entries and collect money. Have fun picking out books with lots of sight words your child has learned in school this year and watch their reading level soar! The LCPL awards really nice ribbons and trophies for participating.
Parent Teacher Conferences happening 1/28/22-NO SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS!
We do go outside to play!!!
The children may also play in the snow when we have it. To play in the snow, they MUST HAVE a winter coat, winter boots (NOT fashion boots), gloves, and a hat. It is a good idea to keep these items in a separate bag and teach them how to take the things off and place them in the bag as to not loose things. As with all their things, make sure they have their name on the tags for if they happen to get misplaced.
Emergency School Closing Information For Bad Weather
Please take a minute to familiarize yourself with our district's plan and policy on weather related school closings on our website. Should we need to cancel or delay school due to inclement weather, our district homepage will be updated with a pop up window that appears that day upon closure. We will also update our Facebook pages as well as make a district wide all call. In case of delay, all schools will begin 2 hours later than regular time. For the ELC, that is 11:10. Buses will arrive 2 hours later and breakfast will not be served, as we will be starting lunches upon arrival.
