First Day of School is Monday, September 14th in Comprehensive Distance Learning
The first day of school for students will be Monday, September 14. Students will start the school year either with Comprehensive Distance Learning (CDL) through their regular neighborhood or option school or with online learning through the new FLEX Online School.
We’re committing to remain in a Comprehensive Distance Learning-only model through at least November 13, 2020. All daily coursework, lessons and learning tasks in grades K-12 will be delivered through Seesaw or Canvas by neighborhood or option school teachers. When it's safe to do so, we’ll begin to bring students back to school in a Hybrid Model: two days in school and three days online from home. (English Language Newcomers and some students in specialized programs will be eligible for additional in-person instruction on Wednesdays.) If your student would prefer not to return to school in a Hybrid Model, he or she can continue to learn fully online from home via Comprehensive Distance Learning through the remainder of the year.

BSD Issued Device Distribtion
Device Distribution
To adhere to the Social Distancing Guidelines, please follow this process when picking up an iPad or Chromebook.
Parents – fill out the Device Checkout Info Card.pd child(ren)'s name in bold dark letters, so it is visible out of your car window.
Please drive to Hiteon if possible. If you walk or ride bikes look for the walk up station and wait there for assistance.
Please remember that you have a two-hour window of time to pick up, so don't feel like you need to be there right at the beginning. It would be helpful to think about arriving at different times during that window.
Please enter Hiteon from Brockman or Davies, with both entrances merging to one lane in front of the school. Please see the attached map.
Once in line, the process from BSD-IT will be as follows- One person is stationed where cars enter. They read the name from the car that the parent puts in the window and relays that to the other volunteers.
If you have any questions, please contact Jenny Read-Emslie at jenny_read-emslie@beaverton.k12.or.us
iPad & Chromebook Information
iPad Distribution for ALL Kindergartners, First & Second Graders ONLY
On Thursday, September 10, from 10:00 - 12:30, please plan to come to Hiteon to receive an iPad for your child(ren) in Kindergarten, first grade, and/or second grades only. Below is important information about the process for getting an iPad. If your child received a Chromebook & power cords last Spring, please return it when you come to exchange it for an iPad.
If PK-2 students signed out a Chromebook in the spring, we request that they bring the device and charger to the iPad Distribution.
If the parents ensure they know their student ID before they come to the deployment, it will significantly speed up the process.
Please click this link Device Checkout Info Card.pdf filling it out before arriving at the distribution. This will help speed up the process and help us maintain social distancing. The card is not required to receive an iPad.
