Hello Ridgeview Families,

Happy April and welcome to the 3rd trimester of the school year. It has been so wonderful to be able to have families back on campus as volunteers and at school events.

Speaking of school events that 3rd and 4th grade concert was amazing. Your students did a fantastic job and we want to say an extra special thank you to our amazing music teacher, Andrea Martin!

Reflecting back to February we started a kindness campaign here at Ridgeview. We are proud to say that it had a very positive impact on our school. So much so that we continued in March and are launching the next phase of our campaign in April.

The goal of our campaign is to continuously promote and support a culture of kindness and respect. Through our work with our kindness campaign we have seen significant improvements in the amount of positive behavior students are displaying, student to to student and student staff. We have also seen a significant decrease in undesired student behavior related to respect and conflict resolution. Thank you for talking with your student and learning more about our April campaign that we are kicking off next week.

I want to extend a warm welcome to Lacy McDonald to our Ridgeview family. Mrs. McDonald will serve our Ridgeview community as Principal starting in the 23/24 school year.

Lacy is a long time Springfield resident and educator. Most recently having served as the principal of Page Elementary for the past 7 years. I have know Lacy from her first days as a educator and feel so thankful that Ridgeview will not only be getting a wonderful leader in Lacy but also a fabulous human being!

Each month we are thankful for group of parents and staff who come together for the sole purpose of supporting our Ridgeview Community! They plan fun events like our recent Movie Night, raise funds to support educational events such as field trips and provide resources to meet the needs within our school and classrooms.

They are also a connection between what is happening in our schools and the home. This is something that has been sorely missed during the pandemic.

Want to find out more? What to learn what is happening? There are so many ways to be involved, behind the scenes supporting an event, planning teams, bringing your ideas and voice to our PTO meetings, or even become part of the PTO leadership team. We would love to have you in any capacity works with you and your family!
