Teamwork makes the dream work!
Viking Family,
I hope this letter finds you well. We just finished our third week and with each day that passes, I am given another reason to love this school! This week my gratitude is for our team. As we hosted class meetings this week, Ms. Kinslow opened each one by introducing our team of administrators and counselors. She ended her portion of the meeting with, โThis is your team. These are the people (along with your teachers) that want to help you be successful and make this your best year ever at LVHS. We all work for YOU!โ
Iโm so blessed to be part of this team, and I invite you to join TEAM LVHS. Your first opportunity is next Wednesday, September 4th, as we will host our Open House/Meet the Teacher from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Please join us and meet the members of your studentโs team.
In our meetings, we also invited the Classes of 2025, 2026, 2027, and 2028 to participate in a school activity. Itโs how we build our community and make the high school experience special for all of our students. I encourage you to talk with your child about the importance of being an active participant in their learning journey. Whether itโs in the classroom, on the sports field, in a club, or any other group activity, every student has something unique to contribute. In essence, We All Row and we all grow!
Another way Vikings can get involved is by serving our amazing Lago Vista community. We are so excited to announce that as part of our Open House/Meet the Teacher night, we are partnering with the Hope Center. As our first LVHS community service project, we ask each family to bring a food item to support our local food pantry. Items most needed can be found in the list below, but any non-perishable food item will be helpful. Let's pack their shelves full of food!
Enjoy your Labor Day weekend, and I hope to see you next Wednesday evening!
AeTT,
Janda Castillo
Proud Principal Lago Vista High School
It's Meet the Teacher Time!
Hello LVHS Families,
LVHS parents/guardians and students are invited meet our amazing team of teachers on Wednesday, September 4th! This event is NOT a come-and-go event, but is like a mini run-through of each student's schedule. We are also partnering with the Hope Center Food Bank. See those details below!
Parents/guardians will meet in the main gymnasium at 6:00 PM for a short introduction by our Proud Principal, Janda Castillo, followed by an opportunity to meet and visit with each of your student's teachers. We will have printed schedules for parents/guardians to pick up so that everyone knows where to go.
Here is a quick run down of how the evening will look:
- Orientation 6:00 - 6:15
- 1st Period 6:20 โ 6:28
- 2nd Period 6:33 โ 6:41
- 3rd Period 6:46 โ 6:54
- 4th Period 6:59 โ 7:07
- 5th Period 7:12 โ 7:20
- 6th Period 7:25 - 7:33
- 7th Period 7:38 - 7:46
- 8th Period 7:51 - 7:59
The best place to enter the building is from the back parking lot through the cafeteria. If you have more than one student, we suggest asking your students which teachers they think would be best to meet and splitting your time. We are so excited to see everyone on Wednesday after the long weekend!

In a continuing effort to assure the safety and enjoyment of all athletes and spectators, the following procedures will be enforced during home athletic events:
Outside food and drinks are prohibited.
There is no re-entry after exiting the event.
All students 5th grade and younger must be accompanied by an adult guardian in order to attend home games. The students must remain under the supervision of that guardian while at the event.

Revealing, provocative and/or inappropriate dress will not be allowed, nor will inappropriate behaviors or foul language. Repeat offenders will be required to leave the event and campus.
Once inside the event, middle school and high school students with a student ticket will be allowed to sit in the designated student area on the home side. Students are allowed to sit in the reserved or general admission sections only if they are under the supervision of an adult guardian.
Spectators wanting to sit in reserved seating must purchase a ticket for the reserved section.
The use of alcohol, controlled substances, tobacco, and electronic cigarettes are prohibited on school premises.
Only pre-approved individuals will be allowed access to the sidelines and track before and during football games.
Spectators may not enter the field area or cross to the visiting team side.
Everyone is expected to abide by the UILโs expectations of proper sportsmanship. Failure to do so may result in being removed from the event and campus.
