Durham Bulls Internship - Feb. 17
If you’re passionate about live television broadcasting or considering a career in broadcast communications, we have an incredible opportunity for them!
The Durham Bulls Explorer Post 50 is a co-ed unpaid internship program designed for students aged 14-20. This program offers a unique and invaluable chance to gain exceptional experience in the field of television broadcasting, supported and sponsored by the Durham Bulls, Fox 50, and Capitol Broadcasting Company. Post 50 is responsible for the live broadcast of Durham Bulls games on MeTV, WRAL Sports Plus, MiLB.com, and within the ballpark. Additionally, we contribute highlights for FOX 50 and WRAL newscasts.

HBCU Showcase & Community Resource Fair - Feb. 17
SECU Scholarship - Feb. 23
- The People Helping People's Scholarship is a scholarship that the State Employee's Credit Union offers to each county throughout NC. Each year MCHS is able to nominate 1 MCHS student and 1 alternate candidate to the district level for the People Helping People SECU scholarship. This scholarship is a $10,000 scholarship that can be used at any of the 16 UNC System schools. You or your parent must be an SECU member to apply.
- Scholarship applications are due by February 23rd in order to be considered for the MCHS nomination to the District Level. Students will be notified if they are moving forward before Spring Break on March 1st. The district will select 8 total SECU scholarship recipients district wide.

The Prom Shoppe - March 8 & 9
- Attending the prom is important to many young women, and often the expenses associated with the event make it extremely difficult for many families to afford, especially during tough economic times. Serving the community since 2008, the Prom Shoppe is an outreach ministry of Apex United Methodist Church. The nonprofit organization provides prom dresses as well as shoes, jewelry and other accessories to teens at no cost

STEM Engineering and Construction Camps
Led by industry professionals and other volunteers from the military and engineering community, the Program focuses on hands-on, project-based learning that provides students with opportunities to begin exploring STEM fields and to chart a course for future STEM education and workforce opportunities. Camps are offered at six locations.
Camps run June through July; all are overnight camps. (Must be at least 15 years of age to apply; rising sophomore, junior, or senior.) Flyer Attached

Middle College High School has enlisted the help of A Plus Test Prep and ACT Online Prep to provide support to our students for the 2023-2024 School Year.

MCHS students can get help in college courses in building10, room 308. The first step is creating an account with the Center for Academic Excellence. From there you can book tutors at convenient times.
