Did You Know?
Did you know that Strongsville City Schools has a renewal levy (Issue 68) on the upcoming November ballot? This is a renewal levy, which means there are no new taxes. One of our District’s goals is “Financial Prudence.” We are proud of the national recognition our Treasurer’s Office has received for financial reporting, budget presentation, and overall fiscal transparency since 2016. Strongsville City Schools continues to appreciate and be good stewards of the financial support received from our community.
60 Seconds with the Superintendent
Art Teachers at Kinsner and Muraski Elementary Schools helped our students celebrate “International Dot Day” this past week. The event is tied to “The Dot” - a story by Peter H. Reynolds - about making your mark, and how small actions can make a great impact on those around you. Click HERE for this week’s ‘60 Seconds’ episode, to hear about how this art lesson also turned into more classroom lessons through collaboration of teachers in our elementary schools.

Mrs. Sweigart’s “Food & Culinary Fundamentals” class at SHS had a chance to harvest vegetables from the community garden and make salsa from the various tomatoes and peppers growing in this garden. MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MRS. SARA McKINLEY, M/I AIDE AT SURRARRER ELEMENTARY
Mrs. Sara McKinley started as a sub in our District in 2014 and was hired at Chapman Elementary for a full time position in 2017. Mrs. McKinley is now beginning her 2nd year as an M/I Aide at Surrarrer Elementary. She is a graduate of Strongsville High School and is back in the same building where she attended elementary school. Both of her children also attended Surrarrer Elementary..
“I love my job for many reasons. Every day I am able to help lay the social and academic foundation for children with unique and challenging disabilities. The children I work with make my day fulfilling and worthwhile, especially when I get to witness them reach a milestone that we only dreamt of meeting. At the end of the day, I know I make a positive impact on their lives and everything I do helps them grow into beautiful people. I couldn’t ask for a more rewarding career,” said Mrs. McKinley.
Thank you Mrs. McKinley for the care that you show our Surrarrer students and for being an important part of their growth and development! #WeAreStrongsville
