Assistant Principal Mrs. Hankerd was able to start a new testing initiative this year with a grant from Flagler Education Foundation and Beaver Toyota of St. Augustine. The funds for this grant will be utilized to reward students who improve their scores for the FAST & BEST Assessments. You can learn more about Beaver Toyota's Fund-A-Project on Flagler Education Foundation's website.
If you need to report an absence, please call our student sick line at 386-437-7537
or by emailing besattendance@flaglerschools.com
Parents will be notified by letter when a child has accumulated five (5) and ten (10) unexcused absences during a 90-calendar day period. After the 10th unexcused absence, we will schedule a meeting with the parent and the Student Success Team to discuss the truancy problem, compulsory attendance laws, review educational records, and teacher observations. After the meeting, the student and school staff may develop a behavioral contract. If the student continues to accumulate unexcused absences, the Student Success Team shall make a referral to the District Office for assistance and possible home visitation. The parent may be referred to the Court if compliance still needs to be achieved.
Tortuga's Coffee Company
Tortuga's Coffee Company is our newest PTO sponsor. We just finished our first successful fundraiser with them, where our Bullpups sold delicious organic coffee to the community. They have all your traditional roasts, including Pumpkin Spice, Chocolate Hazelnut, and Apple Pie. They also have a homemade hot chocolate recipe they make from scratch. They graciously joined us at our SAC/PTO meeting & Family Art Night at the G. W. Carver Center in November and provided fresh coffee to everyone in attendance. Be sure to check them out on their Facebook Page
