May has arrived, just a few short weeks and we will be ending the school year. Students have almost completed their STAAR testing. Please support their efforts by making sure students are well rested and ready to show what they know on their assessments. This week, eighth graders will tackle the social students exam and grades 6-8 will take their respective math assessments. I know they will show great progress.

We will be having a meeting for parents/guardians of our eighth grade students next week in preparation of the eighth grade celebration. Please make plans to attend.

The tennis team had a great season and finished with several medals at the meet on Saturday, April 29th. In boy's doubles, Derrick Lopez and Jose Reyna took home the first place medals. For boy's singles Francisco Santellana and Iker Delgado took 2nd at the 8th and 7th grade level respectively. And Jose Ruiz brought home the 3rd place medal for 8th grade boys. In girl's doubles, Melody Mendoza and Ileene Dozal placed 3rd for 7th grade and Iris Estrella Sanchez Morales and Medeline Morales also placed 3rd. Congratulations Coyotes - you make us very proud!

Congratulations to Mrs. Rebeca Santillan on being selected as TISD's Paraprofessional of the Year. We are so very proud of you and thank you for the fantastic job you do for our campus. This is honor is so well deserved!
