Message from Mrs. Harp // Mensaje de la Sra. Harp
Hello Panther families!
If you know of a prospective Panther family for TK/Kinder, please share the information about our TK/K info night! December 5th from 5-6 in room 3. We'd love a packed house!
Construction update: our timeline for completion of the new buildings is mid- February at this point in time. Once that is complete, classes will move in and end their year in the fancy new classrooms! The portables will be removed shortly thereafter, and the blacktop and landscaping will begin so that we can expand our play space to include more wall ball, four square, basketball, and more! The new buildings are looking great! Pictures included below.
As our mornings get colder, please be sure to send your students with warm layers. We will still be outside for our morning walk as much as possible! Also, I know they don't want to get out of the warm car at drop off, but encourage your student to exit the vehicle as soon as you pull up to the yellow curb to make the process go faster. We know how frustrating our traffic situation is, and want to do all we can as a community to alleviate that.
.
Keep signing up for the Spring Musical and Marimba classes! Also coming soon is Lego Robotics for our 4th-6th graders, beginning in January! More info to come shortly.
Book fair begins this week! Students will visit the book fair with their classes, and we are having our PTA evening of pajamas, cocoa and books on Wednesday evening! Kids in footy pajamas is just too cute to pass up! I hope to see you there!
Happy Sunday!

❓ Principal Harp's Question of the Week ❓
❓ La pregunta de la semana del director Harp ❓
Each week, I will be sending out a question with which you will be given the opportunity to engage in a new conversation with your child. We all know how hard it is to draw out responses other than, "nothing" or "fine" when we ask "What did you do today?" or "How was school?" Be sure to use open ended follow-up questions and statements such as "Tell me more about that!" or "What did you think of that?" Please ask your student(s) the question below, share their response with us and make our day! You can submit more than one response!
(No need to put names or identifying words.)

Reading Kit Request
We're so excited to introduce Penngrove Reading Kits this year. This is a fun way to bring new books home to read as a family, support a struggling reader, encourage a love of reading, or just for FUN! If you're curious which kit would be best for your reader, don't hesitate to reach out to their classroom teacher.
Detailed description of these kits are here. Otherwise, feel free to browse the kits in the office or reach out to Mrs. M with any questions at amiljkovic@petk12.org. There are multiple kits at most levels with different titles to keep things interesting :)
Families can check out 2 kits per student at a time and return in 2 weeks.

Contessi Ballet’s Holiday Performance “Clara’s Enchanted Dream”
This beautiful ballet production is in 2 Acts. It is a very family friendly performance and we have re-scripted and choreographed the traditional Nutcracker to make it more engaging for our young audiences. The First Act finds Clara enjoying a beautiful Victorian holiday party with family and friends. Then upon going to sleep she finds that her teddy bear and other dolls have come alive and are giants, wanting to dance with her upon her beloved Butler doing magic to make them come alive after sitting under the holiday tree as little dolls. From there she battles with a tapping Queen mouse and is guided by a beautiful Winter Fairy and her snow angels to the Land of Sweets for Act 2. In Act 2 Clara meets the Sugar Plum Fairy and becomes a princess herself. She watches and plays with various candies that have come alive and are dancing for her. The show ends with her back at home waking up from her dream wondering if it was a dream or was it real. Her teddy bear is now a small toy again but why has she awoken with a crown on her head?
