Autism Acceptance Spirit Week is Next Week!
The month of April is Autism Acceptance month and Kennedy is celebrating all of our Cubs that make up our great school with a spirit week while also learning some things about autism!
- Monday - Magnificent Mind: Autism is a neurological variation - which is just a fancy way of saying that people who have autism, their brain works differently than those who do not have autism - and that’s amazing! Let’s celebrate how amazing it is that all of our minds work in different ways by wearing a fun hat and/or wild hair!
- Tuesday - What’s Your Passion: One characteristic of autism is to show extreme passion for topics or interests. Dress to show something you love!
- Wednesday - Autism Acceptance Day: Empathy and acceptance go a long way! Wear Kennedy gear, or things that have to do with kindness, to show that we Cubs work hard to accept, show empathy and spread kindness to others every day!
- Thursday - Sensory Friendly: People who have autism often have sensitivities throughout their school day. Loud noises may bother them, they may prefer to work with the lights turned down, or they may only like to wear a certain type of clothing. Dress up today in your most comfy clothes!
