• Bell schedules: Our school day will begin at 8:10 am every day.

• Morning drop time will begin at 7:45 am.

• Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays students will be released at 2:30pm.

• Wednesdays, students will be dismissed at 1:30 pm.

• Minimum days will be a 12:10 pm dismissal.

• We are working on finalizing our numbers and would like to get some help from you. If you are planning on not returning to Bijou for the upcoming school year, please call the office to let us know.
• The office will close at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 26th to prepare to post class lists. Class lists will be posted on the front doors after 3:00pm.
  

TK/Kinder parent and student orientation will take place on Monday, August 29th from 8:45am to 11:45am. Parents are asked to stay with their child the first day, at which time the teachers will introduce themselves and the school campus, go over what to expect this upcoming year and answer questions. After orientation, students will be going home with their parents. Students will then return to a regular school schedule starting on Tuesday, August 30th at 8:10 am..

Please turn in any paperwork that you still have regarding registration. Most importantly, if you child is missing immunizations, THEY WILL NOT BE PLACED IN A CLASS. It is very important that you bring immunization records to the office before 4:00 pm on Thursday, August 25th. The office will close at 12:00 pm on Friday, August 26th to prepare to post class lists.

Back to School night is scheduled for Thursday, September 1st. This will be a minimum day for all students with dismissal at 12:10pm. We will have two informational sessions starting at 5:30 pm and 6:20 pm. More information will follow.

Meal Service and Bus Transportation will both be at no cost to families once again this school year. School funding and the maintenance of many educational programs, however, will still be reliant upon the district’s collection of income data from every family, so please complete the meal application by clicking on the link below! Every family that fills out this application will receive free Chromebook Insurance for each child ($35 per student) in the 2022/23 school year! Paper forms are available in the office.

ALL FAMILIES MUST update their emergency contact information and review annual notifications online through the AERIES PARENT PORTAL You should have received instructions on how to set up your Aeries Parent Portal (if you did not get an email, please call us so that we can check the email address on file). The Aeries Parent Portal is where you will be able to update your student's information, check attendance and eventually check grades when they get to STMS.

We are excited to announce that LTUSD will continue to use the school-to-home communications platform called ParentSquare. If you have not, please accept the invitation you should have received separately from Aeries Communication so that all school/grade level and classroom information will continue to be sent to your computer or phone via email and/or text.

Please note that Kids Zone before school care will not be offered this year due to the earlier start times at our elementary schools. Student supervision will be available 20 minutes before school starts and families are asked to drop students no earlier than 20 minutes prior to the start of school.

As for after school care, LTUSD has teamed up with our wonderful Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe to help expand services for students. Boys and Girls Club will be available at LTESMS, Bijou Community School, and at the Boys & Girls Club headquarters at 1100 Lyons Avenue. Transportation will be provided from Sierra House and Tahoe Valley to the Boys and Girls Club after school is dismissed at 2:25.
