Welcome to a New Week!

Hi GIS Community,


First and foremost, thank you for working with us last week with our flurry of bus challenges. It's always our priority to get your kiddos home safe, and last week was full of unknowns. I fully recognize that, and I'm hoping this week will improve!


We're heading into our first full week of December, followed by a busy and wonderful weekend! The craft fair was a success. It was a windy and drizzly day, but that didn't stop people from filling the halls and supporting local crafters. A HUGE shout-out to the PTA for their hard work putting this event together. Next weekend, people who purchase poinsettias will come to school on Saturday for pick-up between 10-12.

The Book Fair is Here!

This week, the Scholastic Book Fair is at GIS! Ms. Drasler, our librarian, will have the book fair open several times this week, including after school on Monday. Students will visit the book fair with their teachers and during library time. If you have questions, please email Ms. Drasler at mailto:ldrasler@gisu.org

To support Operation Happiness, GIS will be collecting new, unwrapped toys. Please drop off your donations in the main office if you would like to donate.

Ski and Ride Update

Hi GIS!

We have over 18 students signed up to participate in the ski and ride program and a ton of family support on and off the mountain. I'm feeling full of gratitude! I will send out a consent form from Smuggs this week, be on the lookout!

If you are interested in donating snacks to classrooms. Please connect with your student('s) classroom teacher(s). We're always thankful for these donations!
Our Grand Isle School Store
The PTA has worked with a vendor to provide us with a school store so that families can order Grand Isle School gear!

Lost and Found

We have a large collection of sweatshirts, pants, shirts, jackets, water bottles, and some lunch boxes. If you're coming into school for pickup or drop-off, please swing by and see if anything belongs to your kiddo!
