Bresnahan Weekly Wednesday

Dear Bresnahan Families,

It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces at the Meet and Greets today! We cannot wait to see our 1st-3rd Graders tomorrow, and then our PS/PK and Kindergarten students on Monday! It is going to be a GREAT year!

Here at the Bresnahan, we have 3 core values: Be Safe, Be Kind, and Be Responsible.

Your child will be practicing these values in every area of the school, including their classroom, the hallway, cafeteria, and at recess! When your student is noticed displaying a behavior matching these core values they will earn clipper stamps. This is part of our PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Supports) that all staff at the Bresnahan use to create a safe, equitable atmosphere for all students. You will be receiving more information about our PBIS program from your child’s classroom teacher.

School Arrival

Walkers & Bikers: Arrive & enter through Door 1.

Bussers: Drop off in the turnaround at the front of the school and enter through Door 1.

Car Riders: Drop off on the side of the school accessible from N. Atkinson Street. Parents should drive in a single lane to the drop off area. Students may enter the school through Door #4 (last door). Parents should pull forward as far as possible to continue the flow of traffic.

NOTE for next week: Parents of PS/PK Car Riders should park in the main parking lot and escort their children to their classroom door.

Bresnahan staff members are stationed at all entry points to welcome students and monitor safety.

School Dismissal

Walkers & Bikers: Students will be released (at Door #1) to their parents/guardians using distributed placards for identification.

Car Riders: Riders will be dismissed through Doors #2, #3, & #4. Parents should drive in a single lane to the pick up area from the N. Atkinson Street entrance with the student placard visible on the dashboard. Parents should pull forward as far as possible to continue the flow of traffic. NOTE: Parents of PS/PK Car Riders should park in the main parking lot (32 N. Atkinson St address) and pick-up their children at their classroom door.

Classroom Liaison

Would you like to be a classroom liaison for your child’s classroom? As a classroom liaison, you will assist your child’s teacher in organizing class events, recruiting parent or caregiver volunteers, and meeting any classroom needs. You may also be asked to communicate with parents and caregivers about PTO events and any potential classroom gifts.
