Pictured below is UPenn's electric race car and the girls lined up in front of the ENIAC: the world's first electronic computer.

School Counseling Department
- On Wednesday, April 10, 2019 the School Counseling Department will be presenting “Meet the College Rep Night,” the final component of our five-part college planning series for juniors. The program will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium with a “College Admissions Panel” representing 9 private and public colleges and universities and one specialty area. You and your junior student will then have an opportunity to attend two separate college admissions presentations led by the two Colleges of your choice. A mailer will be sent home with registration information.
- Last year, the high school counselors created a new and improved website. We would like to share the link in order to ensure that all are aware of this change: https://sites.google.com/lmtsd.org/lmhs-school-counseling/home. If there are topics about which you would like more information via the website, please contact Mrs. Forcina at lforcina@lmtsd.org.
- AP pre-administration sessions are scheduled for Tuesday, 4/23 and Thursday, 4/25. The Lower Moreland Lacrosse team would like to thank the Lower Moreland/Bryn Athyn community, including ANC, for participating in the Purple Game on Wednesday, April 3rd. Both teams, with the help of parents, teachers and community members, collected about five large boxes of donations for Laurel House, a comprehensive domestic violence agency, providing supportive services, as well as dating violence and domestic violence prevention education throughout Montgomery County. Donations will directly support families in need of resources.
Baseball – The baseball team is off to a fantastic start this season, with a 6-0 record, and they are in a first place tie with Holy Ghost Prep. The team is in the midst of a few road games in row, with the team visiting William Tennent on Friday and Methacton on Saturday. The team is back at home on 4/23 vs. Church Farm School.
The team has been led by pitchers John Davies and Matt Haggerty. At the plate Max Cousins and Connor Duddy have got off to hot starts to help the team to the 5-0 record.
Softball – The softball team currently sits at 3-3 on the young season. With no seniors on the roster, the young team is making vast improvements on a daily basis. Riley Malone has led the team at the plate from the leadoff position and continues to show why she is one of the best players in the league. Dana Schwarz has improved pitching this year, and has kept the team in their games early on this season. Freshman Jess Dugo and Sophomore Phoebe Lynch have also contributed to the early season success.
Lacrosse – The girls lacrosse team is continuing to improve as well, and despite a 1-5 record, they are playing more competitive games so far this year, which is a credit to the girls off season training and coaching. Emily Fee has continued to improve holding down the goalie position until Reyna Amit returns from injury. Senior Bianca Miriello, Sophomore Paige Malpezzi, and Freshman Kylie Tammaro have led the team in the early portions of the season.
Boys Tennis –Despite a 3-5 record on the season, the boys challenged themselves with a tough non league schedule and are playing very competitive teams. The hope is these competitive games will allow them to be prepared for districts and states later in the year. The boys defeated Dock Mennonite 6-1, New Hope 5-2, and Jenkintown to improve to 3-1 in the league. Individually Josh Arno has advanced to the BAL Singles Semi-Finals which will be on Wednesday at 11 AM.
Track & Field: Both the boys and girls had successful opening invitational meets, with the teams placing six times in the top 3 overall in there separate events. The highlight of the meet was the boys Sprint Medley Relay composed of Shejin Shaju, James Duesler, Josiah Wiggins, and Shane Cohen, who won the race and qualified for the Outdoor National Championships again in North Carolina during the summer. In other boys events, Dan Maloney placed 3rd in the 110m High Hurdles, and the relay team of Andrew Buss, Josiah Wiggins, Shejin Shaju, and Shane Cohen placed 5th in the 4X400.
On the girls side, the Distance Medley Relay team of Sandy Hua, Makayla McQuoid, Sara Yi, and Lenna Saidi placed 2nd. Nicole Castor and Gianna Penecale went 2nd and 3rd respectfully in the 100M High Hurdles, and then went 3rd and 4th in the long jump with Gianna placing third and Nicole Forth. The girls 4X200M Relay team of Amajie Dunkley, Allison Asmann, Nicole Caster, and Gianna Penecale placed 3rd. Keeley McGuigan and Kerri Kennedy finished the scoring for the girls with 5th and 6th place finishes respectfully, in the shot put.
The teams next invitational will be this Friday at Upper Moreland HS starting at 3:30.
