PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS
Much of the success of the Johnson Jaguar Band can be traced back to our students’ high-quality individual musicianship. That individual musicianship is developed not only during daily band class and at-home practice but through our incredible Private Lesson Program.
The band staff has worked diligently to assemble the finest local professionals on each and every instrument to deliver 1-on-1 lessons to our students who enroll in the program! Lessons occur on campus before, during, and after school. Although not required, lessons are highly encouraged. Private lessons are not for remediation but rather enrichment!
Students are encouraged to reach out directly to an instructor to sign up and schedule lessons.

A MESSAGE FROM THE BAND DIRECTOR
Week of August 20th
It's hard to believe that the first week of the school year has already flown by! As we embark on week two, we are eagerly looking forward to all the opportunities and experiences it will bring.
This week marks the beginning of our regular school and rehearsal schedules. Please note that our weekly rehearsal sessions for Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony will now include Master Classes. Woodwind Master Classes will take place on Tuesdays, and Brass Master Classes are scheduled for Wednesdays. All other bands will continue with their regular rehearsals. These sessions will be invaluable in preparing for the upcoming TMEA All State Auditions.
Saturday brings with it our first football game of the season! To keep everyone informed, a detailed Game Day Schedule will be distributed this week. This schedule will outline everything you need to know, from what to wear to departure and arrival times. Additionally, you'll find a link to a map with the stadium address for your convenience. While we can't predict the exact time we'll be back at Johnson HS, rest assured that we'll send real-time updates via Remind 101 to keep you informed of our location as we make our way back home. We kindly request that all students be picked up on time to ensure a smooth return for everyone.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to each and every one of you for helping us reach our Fundraiser Goal. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in offsetting recent budget cuts, and we're incredibly grateful for your unwavering support.
The enthusiasm and momentum of this academic year have been nothing short of inspiring. As we continue to celebrate our achievements and look towards the future, let's always remember that each day is an opportunity to embrace being a Jaguar.
Here's to another fantastic week ahead! "It's a great day to be a Jaguar!"
COLOR GUARD CORNER
PLEASE SEE THE PDF ATTACHED TO CHARMS EMAIL FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING UNIFORM, HAIR & MAKEUP AND INSPECTIONS BEFORE OUR FIRST FOOTBALL GAME THIS SATURDAY!
IMPORTANT REMINDERS!
Please don't forget that your student MUST wear SOLID TAN OR BLACK undergarments with all of their uniforms or costumes. In some circumstances, prints on underwear or bras can be seen through the outfits!
- Guard members must purchase no-show black socks to wear with their black uniform sneakers.
- Guard members must wear thin black booties with their jazz shoes. CLICK HERE for an example. Wearing jazz shoes without socks makes them smell very bad!
WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS!
We had another fantastic workday!! We LOVE our parent volunteers! Thank you for supporting us behind the scenes!
Check out the amazing team work performed on Parent Work Day!!
