Bronco Family Newsletter
Welcome back- and Happy Spring!
Greetings Bronco Families!
We are here at the last six days of school. I am short on words for this one- there is so much happening, it is hard to express them all (but follow on Twitter to keep up!) - but I wanted to send out information about end of year to make sure that you have all of the information you need to close this school year (and yes, get ready for the next).
As mentioned in a recent ParentSquare, this week we are on an altered schedule for senior projects. Tomorrow students get out at 12:54 again, and the other half of our seniors will present their projects in front of a panel comprised of community members, faculty, and junior peers. Today's presentations were outstanding, and I look forward to seeing our seniors impress once again tomorrow.
FINALS
Next week, we have finals scheduled.
- Monday is a holiday- Memorial Day- no school.
- Tuesday is A period finals. All students with no A period will begin school at 9:40am. Students may be on campus in the morning before this time as needed, but cannot wander through the halls or be loud in the spaces, as students are testing.
- Wednesday we start our block finals schedule, beginning with periods 1 and 2. All schedules can be seen below and are always published on our website.
Seniors- Friday is the last school day for Seniors. Tuesday, all seniors must report to Concord Pavilion at 9am for mandatory graduation rehearsal. They will not be required to return to school after this. More information about rehearsal can be found below.
SENIORS MUST RETURN BOOKS AND CHROMEBOOKS THIS WEEK TO THE LIBRARY. ALL LOCKERS MUST BE CLEANED OUT. FINES ARE ASSESSED FOR LOCKERS THAT ARE NOT EMPTIED, AND SENIORS WILL NOT RECEIVE THEIR DIPLOMAS UNTIL ALL SCHOOL TEXTBOOKS, CHROMEBOOKS (AND CHARGERS) AND FINES ARE CLEARED.
SENIOR LOCKER CLEANOUT WILL BE AT 2:30 FRIDAY AFTER SENIOR BREAKFAST
Books and Lockers
Students must check books in asap. Non-seniors will keep their chromebooks. Some classes will come as a whole into the library to return books for that class during their finals time. Students may return books as soon as they are no longer needed, before and after school, and during breaks. Students will not receive their schedules in the Fall with outstanding books or fines.
Locker clean out begins with the 1st day of finals. All lockers must be emptied and cleaned. There is a $10 fine for any locker left with items in them. Lockers are opened and sanitized during the summer.
Important - 9th and 11th grade students should clean lockers, but KEEP their locks on their lockers- they will have the same locker next school year.
10TH GRADE STUDENTS (AND SENIORS) MUST TURN IN THEIR LOCKS. THERE WILL BE BOXES IN THE LOCKER AREA TO DROP LOCKS INTO. LOST LOCKS ARE $5.
GRADES
Grades will be finalized June 5th. Report cards will be mailed home at that time. Any questions about grades will need to be addressed with the teacher, but please note teachers are OFF after June 2nd until August 8th.
SUMMER SCHOOL
We are offering summer school for credit and grade recovery on a limited basis from June 7-June 30. Students interested should contact their counselor.
SUMMER GRADUATION
Students who are not graduating in the spring may have the opportunity to complete their credits during summer school. There will be a summer graduation ceremony honoring these students across the district in August. Families will be given details as their student qualifies.
There have been a lot of great events and achievements by our Broncos these last few weeks. Keep up by following Northgate High School on Twitter - @northgatehs
