MRMS Families,
This week kicks off the final quarter of the 2020-21 school year. Wednesday April 7th is the final day of quarter 3 and Thursday officially kicks off quarter 4. Students have been working hard to keep up their grades for the close of the quarter and can use the next few days as a final push. This quarter, I have seen more and more students utilizing Aspen's student portal to check and keep up with their grades. This is such a valuable practice for students and families, as it promotes ownership and accountability of their own success in school. If you or your student needs support logging into Apsen, please reach out to the school and we can get you set up!
In partnership,
Adam O'Shea, Principal
Monomoy Middle School

Announcements
Spring Sports
As we have monitored closely the fall and winter sports seasons at the high school level, we have decided to take the preliminary steps to have spring sports. At this point, we have received confirmation from many Cape and Island schools that their middle school students will be participating in spring sports. This includes our typical competition of Nauset, Mashpee, Nantucket, Sandwich, Dennis-Yarmouth, and St. Pious. The only notable competition not playing this spring is Lighthouse Charter School. Spring Sports are open to all students in grades 5-7. Tryouts begin on April 26th.
Spring sports include:
- Track and Field: Coach Michael Schaffer/Joe Webster
- Baseball: Kathy Andrews
- Softball: Craig Andrews
- Club Lacrosse Boys: coach needed
- Club Lacrosse Girls: Kim Mulvehill
- Tennis: Dan Schwartzman
- Golf: Gordon Napier
If you are interested in coaching, please reach out to either me or Karen Guillemette at kguillemette@monomoy.edu.
