Continue to Pray for the Families Involved in the Vehicle Accident in Gooding
Click on the links below or scan the QR code to donate to the families involved.
As most of you know, two families in our community are enduring devastating losses.
On Friday, October 27th, a two-vehicle fatality crash happened at the intersection of Hwy 26 and 2000 East. Although most of the people involved in the accident survived, these families are mourning the loss of their sisters and friends but also have loved ones still in the hospital or at home recovering.
No donation is too small, anything helps and would be greatly appreciated.

🚒 Message From Fire Chief Steven Bishop
Message From Mayor Diane Houser
Hello Citizens of Gooding,
Looks like fall has finally arrived. I didn’t think the tree leaves were ever going to turn yellow and orange. But that time has arrived, and we are all raking leaves. Also, the city tree yard is still open until November 18th.
I asked you a few months ago to keep an eye out at night for juveniles that were out late at night vandalizing city and private properties. Please continue to watch for any activities in your area. We have received a complaint of spray painting on garbage cans and cans being tipped over. If you see anything in your nationhood, please call the police department and let them know.
Ah, Thanksgiving: Time to dive face-first into mountains of mashed potatoes, count our blessings and if we're feeling really ambitious, get up a friendly game of toss the pigskin with the family (or watch our favorite team do the same). I hope you and your families have a wonderful day. It is a day of giving thanks for all that we are fortunate to have. I’d like to say thank you to all the citizens of Gooding. We have a really great little town that’s always striving to do something new and better for our community. Also, a big thank you to the employees of Gooding City. You are a hard-working group and I really appreciate all that you do for this City.
Snow will be flying pretty soon. Winter and bad weather is just around the corner. Please be mindful and considerate of the Public Works crew as they plow the snow, sand and remove the snow berms. Parking is difficult when there is snow on the roadway. We ask that you try to keep your vehicles parked off of the roadway until the plows have removed the snow from teh business area, including Main Street. The plows are also having a hard time removing the snow from the side streets such as Idaho, Washington, 2nd Ave W, 3rd Ave E, 4th Ave W and 4th Ave E. We have vehicle parked on the road all night and the plows are unable to get the road plowed. During the day, the vehicles and trucks that are parked there are larger than years ago and its harder to get through when vehicles are parked on both sides of the street. If you have somewhere in the area that you could park your car until the snow is removed, it would be greatly appreciated. There might be a chance that your vehicle will get plowed in.
I would like to thank the kids from the Idaho School for the Deaf & Blind for visiting City Hall. The group of kids met with me, Public Works Director Larry Bybee, Deputy Clerk Hayden Peterson, Streets Supervisor Mitch Rogers and Water/Wastewater Supervisor Noel Edwards. We got to explain what each of us do and how our jobs pertain to operating the City. It was great to see so many kids interested in what we do and how the city operates.
Just a reminder the Gooding Chamber of Commerce will be having their parade of lights again this year on Dec 2nd. Please come out and enjoy the parade, bring the kids to see Santa Claus and have some hot chocolate.
I hope to see you at the parade!

Public Works Upgrades Make the Difference
Our Water and Wastewater Public Works team was recently recognized in the Treatment Plant Operator Magazine. We are proud of our team and commend them on their hard work and dedication to make and maintain a great water system. Most of this work is done behind the scenes and their work goes unrecognized. What they do on a daily basis, including nights and weekends, takes a lot of hard work and knowledge. The City of Gooding strives to provide citizens with clean, reliable drinking water at an affordable cost.

Help The City Help You Keep Your Sewer Lines Flowing
Never pour grease down sink drains or into toilets!
Too often, grease is washed into the plumbing system, usually through the kitchen sink, which will stick to the inside of sewer pipes. Over time, the grease can build up and block the entire pipe. Pour grease into a can (an empty coffee can works great). Keep it in the refrigerator so the grease can solidify and then dispose of it in the trash. Wipe grease from pots and pans with paper towels and throw it in the trash.
Following these simple steps can help you avoid having a backed up sewer line during the holiday season and throughout the year.
