CCTE Innovation Showcase - Results Are In!
This year's CCTE Innovation Showcase, planned for the Town and Country Convention Center, was shifted to a virtual event. The sixteen project teams displayed their projects on a webpage that included a project overview, photos of students in action, products they created, and a student presentation of learning video or podcast. From June 2-4, judges assessed and scored the presentations of learning. On June 4th, a live virtual showcase was streamed to the public. During the live event, each of the project teams met via Zoom with the judges to discuss their project and answer questions. The judges submitted their final scores and champions were announced.

Shaping America through YOUR Advocacy
"What are the elements and actions needed to change public policy in your community? Hoover Academy of Information Technology 11th graders explored this question through "Shaping America through YOUR Advocacy". In this project, students evaluated census collection data, voter participation, and voting integrity to determine the effect of these on their access to political power, technology access, and financial support for the community. The project culminated with the students submitting their podcasts to the NPR Podcast Challenge.
On June 3rd, NPR announced that Census 2020 Podcast created by Hoover AoIT students was recognized as an honorable mention (top 10% of 2200 submissions). Learn more and listen to about the two winners and the 215 honorable mentions.
