What's Up At The Nest...
Principal's Message
Dear OMS families,
There isn't much to report this week, it was a relatively quiet and uneventful week at the nest! We are thrilled to have warmer temperatures on the way, we noticed a number of students wearing shorts already! We made a mistake in our recent communication indicating that coats are only required with temperatures below 50 degrees. We should have indicated that coats are highly encouraged until the temperatures hit 60 degrees! Of course, we didn't hear any complaints from the students, kids never seem to be cold. Since students are not allowed to come into the building if they are cold, please continue to send your child to school with a coat or thick sweatshirt when temperatures are between 50 and 60 degrees.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Erin and Julia

Nurses Note
Spring Break is just around the corner and I wanted to be sure you have the most current information available regarding travel guidance and Covid. We are following the Cook County Department of Public Health/City of Chicago recommendations. Please note that children are no longer exempt from the travel order as of 3/5/21.
Things are ever-changing so please visit this site for the most up to date information:
The basic guidance as of today 3/5/21 is as follows:
Anyone traveling from a state on the Orange list on this webpage is directed to:
obtain a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in suburban Cook County; OR
quarantine for a 10-day period (or for the duration of their time in suburban Cook County, whichever is shorter); OR
Be fully vaccinated, maintain strict masking and physical distancing, and not have any COVID-19 symptoms. Fully vaccinated is defined as two weeks after the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine or two weeks after one dose of a single-dose vaccine.
As always, I am here to talk things through with you and answer any questions you may have. Whatever your plans for spring break may be, I hope you find some fun! Thank you again for partnering with us to continue to keep Olive a safe place for everyone.
