MAP Prep for Upper Elementary
Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are in the final stretch of preparations for the state MAP test that starts on April 18th. This assessment will test students on the skills they have been learning all year long in Reading, Writing, and Math for 3rd-5th graders, and in Science for our 5th graders. We are really proud of what our students have accomplished this year, and we believe in the power of their learning. Good luck, upper elementary!
Grant's Farm Field Trip
Through our work with community partnerships and our initiatives with Healthy Schools Healthy Communities, Patrick Henry won a grant to attend a field trip to Grant's Farm this week! Students were treated to another free field trip to learn all about the hundreds of animal species who live on Grant's Farm, and they even got to take a driving tour of the property to see these animals up close and personal! Grant's Farm also provided a free lunch to our students, as well as free bus transportation to and from Patrick Henry. We are so thankful for this opportunity to experience learning outside of the classroom!
Congratulations, K'Anni!
Zoo Art Contest Winner
On Friday, April 7th, third grader K'Anni Alton was honored at the St. Louis Zoo for her artwork that won a city-wide contest! K'Anni's art is titled, "The Mythical Golden Wolves." K'Anni's entire class was invited to the Zoo for a free field trip so they could cheer her on during the awards ceremony, and then they got to enjoy the fun of a beautiful day in Forest Park. Congratulations to K'Anni, and thank you to Ms. Kellie Godfrey, our art teacher who encouraged all students to participate and provided the right tools and environment to succeed.
We also want to congratulate Kamaya Hill and Clarence Fuse for their artwork, which is also on display at the Zoo! We are so proud of the creative accomplishments of our school!
St. Louis Aquarium
Thanks to Ms. Sherian Bailey, our students were able to experience the magic and delight of the St. Louis Aquarium! Ms. Bailey secured funding for our students to attend the trip for free, and they were able to experience an incredible number of ocean creatures through this amazing new St. Louis venue. Thank you, Ms. Bailey and our community partners, for providing this experience to our students!
Congratulations, STAR Winners!
