Welcome back, SMCISD!

On Saturday, January 8, SMCISD hosted a vaccine clinic for district students and staff at Goodnight Middle School. More than 300 individuals were able to receive their first dose, second dose, or booster during the clinic.

The Rodriguez Knights purchased a book vending machine prior to the winter break in an effort to increase literacy inside their library. The vending machine has quickly caught the attention of the Rodriguez Knights and students are excited to use the machine throughout the Spring semester.

This week it was back to campus and offices for all of Rattler Nation. We want you to know that the health and safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Our safety protocols will remain in place and we will continue to follow all health guidelines. We ask that you continue to help us by doing your part so we can mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus – wearing a mask/face covering and getting a vaccine or booster, if eligible.

In preparation for course selection season, the SMCISD 5th-grade students visited their respective middle school campuses.

On Tuesday, January 4, the Boys Rattler Basketball program came out victorious over Austin High (68-36). On Friday, January 7, they headed to Del Valle and defeated the Cardinals (79-49). The Boys Basketball Program is 3-0 in District 26-6A.

On Friday, January 7, the Lady Rattlers defeated Del Valle 68-20 in the Snake Pit. Next up for the Lady Rattlers will be Austin Bowie at home.

The Lady Rattlers hosted Lockhart on Friday, January 7. Their district season begins on January 18. The entire first half kicks off at our very own Toyota Rattler Stadium. Bundle up and make sure to support your Lady Rattlers, you won't regret it!

Over the 2021 winter break, Junior PG, Kaden Gumbs earned his place in the 1,000 point club. Congratulations Mr. Gumbs!
