Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families-- I’m happy to report that things went smoothly again this week. As the academic year nears the end, I always encourage parents to reach out to teachers if you have questions about your child’s progress in a given class.
I was talking with Mrs. Frandsen about a project we’re working on, and I casually said, “we’ll come back to that in June”. She looked at me….oh, right—it is June!
June means Graduation Season is here and we’re looking forward to promoting our first-ever senior class. Needless to say, they’re pretty excited!
You know I often listen to Pandora while I write the newsletter and an all-time favorite came on… Motley Crue- Kickstart My Heart! Ironic, considering my birthday theme was Americana and 80’s Rock n Roll, and there were t-shirts being worn that said Kickstart My “Hardt”!
I might be the luckiest principal in the state to have such a great , supportive, staff. At the same time our students were so great with their notes and cards, and a real dedicated group who made themed posters and decorations for our entire office, and piled your classic black “over the hill” balloons in my office! My featured pic today is with our All-American PE teachers. They went all-out!
We had many awesome activities throughout the week, and the highlight for me was our staff/student softball game! You know when you work with people you always see them in the same light every day. But change the activity, the setting, and our roles--and you get to experience people in a whole new way!
It was a great community-building event where staff and students got to have fun together through some friendly competition! Everyone survived and staff only incurred minor injuries and achy muscles! Students were victorious and win the trophy! Thank you to coach Rasmussen for organizing the game!
We’re getting dressed up with the seniors and heading to Prom tomorrow night! Another Ridgeline first!
Make it a great weekend, see you back here on Monday! –Mr. Hardt

AP Environmental Science
Thursday, AP Environmental Science students conducted their Sustainable City Forum. Students have spent the year studying sustainability practices, energy usage, population, land and water use, and pollution. Their final culminating project was to plan an environmentally responsible and sustainable city. We were fortunate to have leaders from local government listen to their presentations and give them real-world feedback. Thank you to Liberty Lake Mayor Cris Kaminskas, City Council Members Dan Dunne and Tom Sahlberg, School Board Members Debbie Long and Cindy McMullen, CVSD Administrator Matt Lambert, and Ridgeline’s administration and counseling team for volunteering their time to our students. It was a great community partnership, and they were impressive with our students' ideas.
AP Chemistry Students
AP chemistry students got to tour EWU and participate in some college chemistry labs.
