In today’s rapidly changing digital landscape, it is necessary for educators to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to integrate computer science & digital literacy into their teaching practices as they prepare students for success in our contemporary world. Be prepared to cover topics such as online safety, digital citizenship, and ways in which students can create, communicate, and collaborate using digital tools in a responsible manner. Reminder, full implementation of the standards is September 2024! Some of our sessions will help you seamlessly integrate the updated NYS Computer Science & Digital Fluency standards into your existing curriculum.

Come ‘fill your plate!' Research shows that formative assessment has the power to significantly improve student learning. However, discovering what students know while they're still in the process of learning it, can be tricky.

In this asynchronous workshop, participants will:

1. Explore a variety of formative assessment tools to determine what works best for collecting data needed to differentiate instruction.
2. Utilize provided templates and resources to create a formative assessment that can be deployed quickly and seamlessly.

Dive into coding! The coding language is so important for our students future employment. This is a topic that many educators say "I don't know a lot about coding" and they stay away from it. This session will teach the basics and show how you can integrate coding into your lessons in a meaningful way. This is an asynchronous session that will start on March 4th and must be completed by March 25th.

Digital Citizenship is a component of the new NYSED Computer Science & Digital Fluency Standards as well as an important concept for all students to learn and practice. We will dive into the CS/DF standards around digital citizenship and explore resources for implementing digital citizenship in your classroom. Leave with lesson ideas for implementation tomorrow! This is an asynchronous session that will start on March 4th and must be completed by March 25th.

Kami is a great tool that is under leveraged in many districts. This session will dive into the new features like question sets, and how you can use Kami to replace Jamboard. Bring ideas and be ready to learn and implement Kami tomorrow.

There are so many AI tools in Canva that teachers and students can leverage to take Canva to the next level. Join us to learn about these AI tools and how to best leverage them. We will also explore Canva Whiteboard and how you can use this to replace Jamboard, Padlet, and other tools.

This session will showcase Artificial Intelligence tools that teachers can leverage in their classrooms and how to do so. We will also dive into common instructional technology tools that have integrated AI into their platforms like Padlet, Quizizz, and more.

Join us for resources and strategies for teaching AI to students. We will explore the potential benefits and risks of AI while looking at topics like bias in technology and increasing efficiencies. Leave with lesson ideas and resources you can use with your students.
