Who Dey!!!!!!
Hi Bengals Fans!
We hope you all had an awesome four day week. We saw our first snow day and finished MAP testing. Along with more Bengals themed shenanigans and an upcoming playoff game, we overall had a great week. (Mr. Meyer is pretty hyped up!!)
Be sure to check out the information below to get updates and resources for upcoming course scheduling. More information will come and students will be guided by counselors and teachers. However, we're always available to answer questions if needed. In addition, linked below are the instructions for how to access report card grades. We have had a lot of questions about this and apologize if a wrong date was originally included in the newsletter. (We're still learning too and appreciate your grace and patience.) Grades have now been released and are available on ebackpack. They go out at a later date than elementary grades are posted.
We celebrate Monday's and love to have students in the building. But, in the meantime, enjoy your weekend. Stay Warm. and Who Dey!

SHS Scheduling Update - Rising 9th graders
As we move along with the schedule planning timeline, we want to make sure students and families are aware of the resources available! The following items have been created to help make sense of our courses and options for rising 9th graders.
- Course Guide - includes all courses, descriptions, and prerequisites.
- List of 9th Grade Courses - this is a simplified list of the classes available in the 9th grade.
- Video Orientation - includes all the information we would like students to consider while planning their classes for next year. Students will review this same information through SchooLinks.
High School Counselors - at the high school, we have grade level team that will work with a class for all four years. For the class of 2027, the counseling team is listed below.

Rising 8th Grade Scheduling News!
Scheduling for the 2022-2023 school year is upon us! For current 7th grade students (Rising 8th), we incorporate an online scheduling component in which students will be entering their course requests into an online portal. Below are some upcoming dates regarding the scheduling process.
The Junior High 8th Grade Course Planner is now available online! You can find it on the website by going to: Junior High → Counseling → Course Planner & Scheduling or by clicking here.
February 10th: Teachers will let students know course recommendations for their core classes and world language. These recommendations will be uploaded and viewable by students when logging in during the online scheduling window.
February 16th: Students will be mailed Online Scheduling Instructions along with an electives course selector that includes students’ usernames and passwords. Students will also receive their username and passwords via email.
February 18th - Feb 26th: Online Scheduling. Students will have one week to enter courses they would like to take next year into the online scheduling portal. Core courses (Language Arts, History, Math, Science) and World Languages, if applicable, will be pre-loaded. Students will then select their music and any electives, schedule permitting.
Early March: Rising 8th grade students will receive verification slips via My eBackpack. This will be a list of courses that were selected for the next school year.
During online scheduling week, students can contact their counselor with any questions or if they need assistance with the online scheduling portal.

Teacher Requested Parent Teacher Conferences
We have a second round of Parent/Teacher Conferences in February, but the teacher schedules this round. The teachers will individually reach out to the families of students they feel that a meeting would help with student achievement. A link will not be sent out for families to schedule a meeting; however, if a family has specific questions or concerns, they are always encouraged to reach out to the teacher at any point in the school year.

- Provided clothing, shoes, furniture, appliances, groceries, and gift cards
- Paid utility and internet bills, emergency hotel stays, rents, and mortgages
- Helped with childcare, car repairs, and too many funeral expenses
- Assisted with medical and mental health needs
- Placed 200 "calming boxes" in every elementary classroom to offer teachers additional resource tools for all types of learners
- Provided tutors to struggling students and welcomed immigrant families with translators
- Spread our kindness all the way to Europe to assist Ukrainian refugees
- Granted scholarships to graduating seniors
- Paid for extracurricular fees for countless students at all grade levels
- Helped families affected by house fires and domestic abuse
- Made sure everyone's holidays were filled with joy
But most importantly, we showed up for our neighbors during their darkest times. Thank you for your role in this impactful year. We continue to foster partnerships with local municipalities and community organizations to reach even more neighbors. Don't hesitate to reach out if you know of a local business or family sponsor who would like to connect with us. We encourage you to register on our website to receive an email notification when a new need is posted. (We do not share your contact information with third parties.) Don't forget to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to see the difference we are making in the community. We appreciate your dedication and commitment to making Sycamore the kindest and most generous neighborhood in all of greater Cincinnati. Happy 2023!
