Sharing the Good News-Recent "Catholic School Review"
The EICS Education Assurance process includes an in-depth review and support program for every school on a four-year cycle. Using the "Marks of an Excellent Catholic School" document as a guide, the Catholic School Review was recently conducted here at OLMP. The process provided detailed perspectives and data that allowed for both celebration of what is going well and worthy of celebration while providing recommendations for further improvement. The review team was thoroughly impressed with our school community and took the opportunity to connect with staff, students, parents, and parish leadership.
The entire report is shared below. Here are a few highlights:
Student commented: “This schools feels more
like a family than anything else.”
Fr. Kris commented: “Leadership team at the
school is close to the strongest that I’ve experienced
as a pastor. Admin and chaplains are all practicing
parishioners. Their professional life is an extension of
their prayer life.”
Staff commented: “Colleagues always step up to
support one another.”
Staff commented that “we treat one another
with patience, respect, and dignity... modeling,
this tact for students.”
An overwhelming appreciation for the prayer
life of the school as a whole with numerous
examples of collective worship multiple times a
day and throughout the week for both
students and staff. For example, prayer in sport
led by athletes, rosary gang, morning divine
liturgy, prayer and petitions.
“Our athletes love to pray together.”
One staff member spoke about his own
personal PGP goal being to have “each
member of the team leading prayer before
practice on a rotational basis.”
One of our clear areas of growth is to create more awareness of our OLMP Catholic School mission statement.

Socks, socks and more socks!
Leadership students that took part in CSLC (Canadian Student Leadership Conference) were challenged to fill a box with socks to donate to those in need this winter. OLMP did better than filling the box, they brought in 619 pairs of socks! AMAZING! This week the socks were sorted and donated to the Open Door and the Women’s Shelter. Thank you to the leadership students for organizing this initiative and thank you to the OLMP family for your donations.
