This week our students and staff completed a school-wide safety training on Wednesday, November 20th, practicing ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate). The ALICE procedure is used if there is ever an intruder who enters the building. I am proud of our students and staff for handling the drill well. Thank you to School Resource Officer Ethan Schnabel, the Rockland Police Department, and Assistant Principal Kathy Paulding for planning the training drill.

This is a reminder that there is Saturday School scheduled for December 10th from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Any student is encouraged to make-up missing work or receive extra help. Teachers from the English, Math, Science, History, and World Language Departments will be there to assist students.

Below are some pictures from Chemistry class, where students were working on a lab. Spectroscopy is used in physical and analytical chemistry to detect, determine, or quantify the molecular and/or structural composition of a sample. Each type of molecule and atom will reflect, absorb, or emit electromagnetic radiation in its characteristic way. Spectroscopy uses these characteristics to deduce and analyze the composition of a sample.

Students in Exploratory Foods were learning about bread - garlic knots, Irish soda bread, pizza and calzones! Ms. Donovan coordinated a visit from a Chef at Johnson University today.
