Introducing "Students in Focus," UEN’s new series spotlighting exceptional student creations from across Utah, including documentaries, narratives, and thought-provoking pieces that delve into the pressing matters in students' minds today. In this episode of UEN Homeroom, Dani and Matt are joined by ULEAD program director McKell Withers and the 6th grade teachers at Greenwood Elementary. Listen to learn more about the ULEAD education initiative and how these successful educators and their students have become "Bright Spots" in their school district.

The focus of this course will be understanding the different blended learning models and frameworks. These will be explained and modeled in class in order to guide participants in understanding and developing their own blended learning materials. This course is designed to consist of two in-person virtual sessions and then four weeks of online work. This will allow the participant time to work on concepts, principles, course materials and apply them in their classroom. There will also be online work between classes that will consist of videos, readings, discussions, and using the blended learning models and frameworks in practice. This course is designed to consist of two in-person virtual sessions and four weeks of online work.

Educators are increasingly expected to exhibit skills and knowledge of using technology to enhance student learning. The UEN Educational Technology Endorsement Program is grounded in the USBE EdTech Competencies and the Utah Effective Teaching Standards. The Competency-Based Educational Technology Endorsement is divided into four courses. Participants will come away with a portfolio of work that aligns with each competency.

Utah Council of Teachers of Mathematics - January 30th-31st

UCET / UELMA 2024 - March 19th-20th

Your eyes do not deceive you. UCET and UELMA are combining forces for their 2024 conference. This year join both conferences in downtown Salt Lake City at the Salt Palace for two days of amazing learning. Keynotes, registration, and call for proposals will be share in the coming weeks. Information will be shared on UCET.org and UELMA.org.

Resource Spotlight

September 17th is Constitution Day, and the Utah Legislature has designated the month of September as “American Founders and Constitution Month.” Utah LEAs, schools, and teachers can use the following resource created by the Utah State Board of Education to engage K-5 students in learning about the United States Constitution. The resource includes a "Constitutional Fitness" program, progress trackers, and certificates.
