The Viking Spotlight is the part in my weekly newsletter used to highlight and celebrate our students and staff anytime we can! If you would like your child acknowledged for something they have accomplished, whether on campus or off-campus, please feel free to fill out this google form HERE. I look forward to celebrating our Vikings and all of the great things they are doing!

So after easing into the semester with a 3-day week, then a 4-day week, we will have our first five-day week of 2024 this week, so we are back to our normal grind. I'm also looking forward to our first Music Monday of 2024 tomorrow...will your Advisory be the winning class?!?

This week, we will get an update on the MVA construction project slated for this fall. I can't wait to share the updates with you all in next week's newsletter. This construction project will be a major improvement and facelift for our campus, so stay tuned!

Congratulations to our boys soccer team for their 3-1 victory this past weekend against IB Charter! 🤗 Unfortunately, they fell short in their 2nd game of the day, as well as our Girls Soccer team in their only game of the day. Nonetheless, I am proud of our students for working hard and trying their best. 💛

We are excited to announce an upcoming event for both current and incoming Viking Families...Viking Family Night on Wednesday, February 7th from 5:30-7:30pm!! 🤗 For the first time ever, we are combining Math Family Night, AVID Night, Science Night, and Future Viking Night, all in one!! Join us for a fun evening of students showcasing projects from their respective classes, performances by different student groups, student games, parent meetings, prize giveaways, and food/drinks. Current 6th graders and their families are encouraged to attend the Future Viking Student and Parent meeting during the event. More details to come, but for now, mark the date in your calendars!! 🤗

This week we will be starting Credit Recovery for World Cultures and US History, as well as Standards Mastery Intervention for 8th grade Science. Counselors reached out to the designated students and parents if they were selected for this intervention. Please sign return the contract that was given to your child. If your child did not receive a contract, please check your email/voicemail for a message from the counselors. We will follow up again on Monday. It is crucial that your child takes advantage of this opportunity now, so they can be one step closer to being eligible to participate in the Promotion ceremony. If you have any questions, please contact the counseling center.

You're invited to our ♥️Sweetheart Dance♥️ on Thursday, February 8th from 5-7pm. Tickets are FREE until Friday, February 2nd. Remember to bring your signed permission slip when you buy your ticket.
