The 7th grade Pin Mass and Ceremony is tomorrow, Wednesday, September 13th at 9:00 a.m. Grades 1-7 will attend. Grades 1-3 will exit the church before the pin ceremony begins. If your 7th grader has a sibling in 1-3 grades and you wish for them to remain for the pinning ceremony and reception, they must be signed out in the office before mass begins. All 7th grade students, their parents, and guests are invited to a reception in the Parish Center following the ceremony. Congratulations Class of 2024!

Our Student Council has declared next Monday, September 18th Black and Gold Day! Lets show our support for our national football team, the New Orleans Saints. Students are allowed to wear appropriate Saints shirts, black and/or gold t-shirts or spirit shirts, uniform shorts or PE shorts, and tennis shoes with socks. Please, no Saints cheerleading outfits. WHO DAT!

The Scholastic Book Fair is around the corner. It is being held September 18th - September 22nd in the cafeteria. All proceeds of the fair benefit the library.

RUN, HIDE, FIGHT PARENT SEMINAR: MQPCS is hosting a parent seminar to help parents/adults to be aware of their surroundings and to learn the run, hide, fight principles of safety. The presentation will be led by FBI Special Agent Natalie Phelan Wednesday, September 20 at 6:00 p.m. in the parish center auditorium. Click HERE for more info.

SCHOOL SAFE ID CHECK IN AND OUT SYSTEM - We have reinstated the use of our School SAFE id check in/out system. If a student arrives late or checks out early, parents should use the computer screen on the front counter. The first time you use it, you will need your ID to scan into the system. Once you have set up your SchoolPass account, using your cell phone number, you will only need the barcode that will show up on your smart device everytime you enter campus. This system is also used when a student is tardy. A tardy slip will be printed by the system when the student is signed in by a parent. The tardy slip is then presented to the homeroom teacher. Teachers will send students back to the office to get a tardy slip if they arrive late without one.

5TH GRADE RETREAT - 5th grade vocations retreat will be held on campus Friday, September 15. The students will hear vocation talks from a priest, deacon, and religious sisters. The students will also learn about hearing God’s divine guidance for their lives while in prayer and quiet adoration. Pizza lunch will be provided for students.

NOLA CATHOLIC YOUTH CONFERENCE - Calling all MQP 7th graders! You are invited to travel by chartered bus to Jesuit High School on Saturday, September 30th, 2023 to hear inspirational talks with a dynamic lineup of speakers. MQP GARDEN FLAG - Spruce up your garden and show your MQP pride all at once. See the attached flyer to purchase your flag. Send flyer and payment to the office and your flag will be sent home with your student.

TUITION RAFFLE TICKETS - Tuition raffle tickets were sent home with your youngest student yesterday. Raffle tickets will be accepted until Thursday, October 5th for the drawing that is held the night of the gala, October 7th. The tickets are $25 each. Click HERE for more details.

PAW YOUR YARD - We are excited to introduce our Christian the Cougar yard sign display! What better way to show school spirit while surprising your child with a yard full of cougar paws. Notes: Be sure to water your yard in advance. This makes sign setup much easier!

ST. CECILIA BAND - Calling all 4-6th grade instrument players. Mr. Mike Orkus, a seasoned band director in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, is going to direct an introductory band program for elementary students within the Archdiocese of New Orleans. This band program will be hosted at St. Christopher School in Metairie. Starting on September 26th, the band will practice on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 4:00-5:30 p.m. This opportunity is open to the first 21 applicants.
