Cheerleading
It was another week of hard work and prepping for FNL for the Warrior cheerleaders! The team is pushing to put together new skills and learn new cheers for more fun on the sidelines. Friday was an exciting win for the Warriors at Radnor, topped off with fun visiting with the Radnor cheer team. We're looking forward to being back at home this weekend!
Upcoming Events:
-Friday 9/15 - Game vs. Upper Perkiomen (HOME)
Boys Cross Country
On Saturday, the boys’ cross-country team competed at the Abington invitational against 11 teams. The team swept the event winning the varsity, JV and novice races. Matt Sandner placed 7th in the varsity race, Ben Freese won the junior varsity race and Jason Nagle won the novice race.
Upcoming Events:
-Wednesday 9/13 - Meet vs. Perkiomen Valley (AWAY)
Girls Cross Country
The Girls' X-C Team had a somewhat unique week of practice/racing because of the week-long heat wave...Ugh!! Starting with celebrating Labor Day and a day off from school, to postponing a PAC Meet vs Norristown to Oct 10th, to not training outside for very long or very hard due to the heat, to doing the season's 1st pool workout session and then finishing by racing at The Abington Invitational on a hot & humid Saturday morning.
At Abington, the Team had 5 award winners: Senior, Molly Thomas (4th overall) & Sophomore Sasha Benowitz in the Varsity race, Jr My-Lan Pham in the JV race and Fr. Stella Meisten & Chole Stike (6th overall) in the Girls Novice race.
Next up will be a PAC Away Meet at PV Middle School-West on Wednesday.
Upcoming Events:
-Wednesday 9/13 - Meet vs. Perkiomen Valley (AWAY)
Field Hockey
This week was another practice filled week for the field hockey team. After rescheduling their Wednesday game against Perk Valley, the team only faced one opponent this week. On Friday afternoon, they played Norristown at home. The game ended after the 3rd quarter due to weather delays with a favorable 7-0 win for the Warriors.
Next week the team's schedule is jam packed with three games. Monday, they take on Pope John Paul II at home for their first official home night game; JV at 5:30 and varsity at 7:00 pm. Wednesday, the team travels to Owen J Roberts to take on the Wildcats on their home field under the lights. Come out to Warrior Stadium early on Friday to support the team as they take on Spring-Ford; varsity starts at 3:30 pm with JV to follow on the auxiliary field.
Highlight players of the week:
Maddie McKenney (sophomore) - Maddie really stepped up as a vocal leader, pushing younger players on the field to give their best effort. She also did an excellent job giving loud and clear communication to her defenders.
Elena Weychert (junior) - Throughout practice, Elena was constantly reflecting on her skills. If she made a mistake, you could see her analyze what she did wrong and try to adjust for the next rep.
Upcoming Events:
-Monday 9/11 - Game vs. PJP (HOME)
-Wednesday 9/13 - Game vs. OJR (AWAY)
-Friday 9/15 - Game vs. Spring-Ford (HOME)

Boys Soccer
The Warriors struggled through the heat while battling their closest neighbor last week.
It was a back and forth game with the boys getting the better of the time of possession but being unable to capitalize. Cole Kleger scored the lone goal on a well placed PK while Cole Larcinese and Luke Navarrete each tallied three shots on goal. Ultimately the boys were unable to overcome their own mistakes however and fell 1-2.
Man of the Match honors go to Logan Courtney for anchoring a solid defensive effort while trying to push the offense forward at the same time.
Upcoming Events:
-Tuesday 9/12 - Game vs. PJP (AWAY)
-Wednesday 9/13 - Game vs. OJR (AWAY)
-Friday 9/15 - Game vs. Spring-Ford (HOME)
Girls Soccer
The girls soccer team had a short week last week due to the weather, but did manage to get a game in on Friday night against Pope John Paul. After jumping out to a 2-0 halftime lead, from goals by Mia Chan and Aubrey Beaugard, the Warriors let PJP back into the game in the 2nd half and ended up with a tough 3-2 loss. The team would like to thank the players and families of local soccer club FC Montco for coming out to support and volunteer as sideline ball runners!
The girls will look to bounce back on Wednesday night at home (5:00 JV, 7:00 Varsity) against rival Owen J Roberts, and on Friday at Spring Ford at 3:45.
Upcoming Events:
-Wednesday 9/13 - Game vs. OJR (HOME)
-Friday 9/15 - Game vs. Spring-Ford (AWAY)
Girls Tennis
Girls tennis had a hot busy week. Due to the heat we didn’t get our full match schedule in and rain interrupted our match with Owen J Roberts. This week we are very full with league and non league matches against Upper Dublin, Boyertown, Unionville and Upper Merion.
Upcoming Events:
-Monday 9/11 - Match vs. Upper Dublin (AWAY)
-Tuesday 9/12 - Match vs. Boyertown (AWAY)
-Wednesday 9/13 - Match vs. Unionville (HOME)
-Thursday 9/14 - Match vs. Upper Merion (HOME)
Volleyball
This past week volleyball went 2-0 with wins over Perk Valley and Norristown. Perk Valley was a 5 set match that saw Perk Valley win the first 2 sets. Momentum started to build at the end of set 2 and we lost 29-27. We carried that momentum into the next set winning 25-12 and eventually winning set 5 15-6. Jacque Rizzuto and Kayla Ginther led the offense for us with 9 and 10 kills respectively. We finished the week at home with a good 3 set win against Norristown.
This week coming up has us going to defending AAA state champ PJP on Monday and then PAC opponent OJR on Wednesday followed by state tournament qualifier Downingtown West on Friday at home.
Upcoming Events:
-Monday 9/11 - Game vs. PJP (AWAY)
-Wednesday 9/13 - Game vs. OJR (AWAY)
-Friday 9/15 - Game vs. Downingtown West (HOME)
