We are so excited to welcome your child to Hudson Bend Middle School in the fall. HBMS is an amazing school filled with many exciting learning opportunities, competitive athletics, talented artists, supportive staff, inspiring coaches and really kind students. Whether your child wants to explore fine arts, technology, Honors classes, pre-athletics, or anything in between, there is a place for your child here at HBMS. Hudson Bend is a truly special place with the most dedicated teachers.

Important Dates
Feb. 3: Rising 6th graders- explore the LTISD Middle School Course Catalog
Feb. 15-March 4: Students with their parent complete a Google Form with course choices
Feb. 15: Rising 6th graders visit HBMS. They will come with their elementary classes on a school bus. This event is from 9-11. This is a student only trip, not a parent event. Students will hear all about middle school, class options, learn about fine arts, electives, and PE classes.
Feb. 23 5:30-7:00 PM: Please join us for an in person parent/student event with administration, counselors and an opportunity to visit electives/fine arts choices. The meeting will begin at 5:30 PM in the large gym. You will learn about the middle school opportunities, see how to select courses, wander the school and visit each elective/fine arts option to help you make an informed decision on courses for 6th grade.
Due March 4 Google Form with course choices due (only accessible from student's Google account) and course selections made in Skyward. Step-by-step directions are below.
Steps to Course Selection
Step 1: Watch the parent Slide Show Presentation in its entirety.
Step 2: Review Courses in Middle School Course Catalog
Step 3: Attend Parent Q&A Night February 23 at 5:30 PM
Step 4: Fill in the grade level appropriate google form by March 4. They serve as a required planning form to help students select their courses and prioritize the selected electives. Parents sit with their students to help them with their choices and complete 6th Grade Courses form at home. This is only accessible for your student's Google account. Make sure they are logged in. Once it is submitted, each student and parent will receive a PDF of the requested courses. Students can use that PDF to help them with step 5. Elementary counselors can help too if needed.
Step 5: Follow the instructions below to enter your desired courses into Skyward by March 4th. VIDEO TUTORIAL
Log into LT1 Classlink
Sign into Skyward with your student username and password.
Click the Course Requests tile for the 2022-2023 academic school year.
Under the Available Courses for 2022-2023 heading, search for each course using the course name or course number (this is where the PDF from the google doc will help you), highlight the course you wish to add. Now click plus sign in front of the Course Description. It will be added. Repeat until you’ve requested all courses. You should have 7 courses requested.
Now select the Alternate tab and add alternates to your Course Requests in case there are scheduling conflicts with your requested courses or course doesn’t make. Remember to place them in the order of 1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice, etc.
IMPORTANT: Your choices are not saved until you complete the step below.
After you have finished selecting courses, click Submit Course Requests near the top left of the screen to save your requests. If you don't submit, you will lose your courses that you selected.
Once you submit your courses, you will be able to go back and edit your courses until March 4.
The form below is only accessible from student's Google account.
