Notes from the Dec. 20, 2021 special board meeting

The Ferguson-Florissant School District Board of Education held a special board meeting on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021. It was livestreamed via the District YouTube channel and can be viewed by visiting the FFSDTV on YouTube. Read about actions taken at the Dec. 20 school board special meeting. Special meetings, work sessions and public hearings are scheduled when necessary to conduct school business.

  • Approved health and safety updates in the revised Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan. View the updated plan here.

Three action items to come from the approval of the updated Safe Return to Learn Plan:


  • MASKS WILL CONTINUE TO BE REQUIRED for all students (ages 2+), staff, and visitors in all FFSD buildings and on buses until further notice.


  • TEST TO STAY PROGRAM – The test to stay program allows students who have had school-related close contact with a person who tested positive for COVID-19 to remain in school if the student is not showing symptoms. Instead of needing to quarantine and miss class, these students will take frequent repeat testing while they remain in school as long as they are not symptomatic. Parental consent is required. More information will be shared in January.


  • STAFF TESTING -- The District will offer randomized/pool weekly COVID-19 testing for fully vaccinated staff members. Ten percent of fully vaccinated employees will be randomly selected and required to participate in surveillance testing each week starting Jan. 18, 2022. Unvaccinated staff will still be required to continue testing weekly.

Ferguson-Florissant School District

The Ferguson-Florissant School District, located in suburban St. Louis, serves more than 10,000 students from preschool through 12th grade with an excellent comprehensive educational program.
